Tacoma Not Good Passenger Vehicle

I owned a 2010 Toyota Tacoma TSS pre runner. It was in excellent condition. It had low miles, looks like it had been garaged and was registered in Louisiana and Florida. Tacoma's had a recall on leaf springs. I had two people tell me they loved their Tacoma but it rusted out. That made one person hate Toyota's after that and never bought another one. I saw he had a jeep. The other guy was heart broken. He got a real good deal on a Chevy truck so he bought that. Seems they didn't know about the recall. Maybe Toyota would have compensated them. I could see the envy in the one guy's eyes. This truck was clean and the older style was prettier than the newer style. It had a tonneau that leaked. I found out any cap or tonneau you put on a Tacoma will leak up around the front. They fix that with rubber cement. Didn't like the idea of that. The tonneau did not lock, so anybody could steal out of your truck bed. The other thing I didn't like was that that they put a silver interior in a work truck vehicle. The other thing I didn't like was the back seat. There's no room in the double cab for passengers. When you buy the vehicle, I didn't think to sit in the back and try it. I saw another Toyota Tacoma pass in front of me and the passengers were all folded up in the back. They looked VERY VERY uncomfortable and that puts your passengers right on the back of the driver and the driver needs some room, the most important person in the vehicle. It only towed 3,500 pounds and there's no tow package for it. I found you can only get a tow package for a 4x4. I turned it in and bought a 4runner. LOTS more room and comfort and tows 5,000 pounds. I'm much happier with the 4runner. The Tacoma is rated a 5 or close to a 5 in safety. That's a high priority. Would still recommend for safety rating and V6 but not for much else. It's not a 4x4. It's a rear wheel drive.

Best thing I ever drove

I was extremely impressed and I only wish I can afford it , I have a 4runner with almost 350000 miles and the only problem I had with it was the radiator (that's it ) I love Toyota quality that's why I want another one and maybe some day I'll be able to buy me an older Tacoma, my friend can't believe how my 4runner runs with all this miles and it has an AC that you can hang meat inside, I love it , maybe one day I'll be able to get my dream Tacoma, with God's help one day,

Toyota Tacoma Review

This car is pretty average. The interior is what you'd expect for a small truck that costs 20k or so. The exterior is nothing to be excited about. It's outdated and hasn't been changed in a long time. It's a bit down on power. The 0-60 time is around 10 seconds. However, this car is very reliable. It'll run forever. So, if reliability is all you care about, then go for it. But, if you care about the other stuff I mentioned such as power, styling, etc., then maybe reconsider.

Tacomariffic

The gold standard of midsize vehicles that does what it should when you need it. Ride is stiff, but pulls a trailer like a dream.

Most reliable vehicle i've owned.

By far the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Also, one of the only manufactures still producing trucks manual transmissions! When you hear the legendary Toyota 4x4 that is no joke!

Amazing truck in all conditions.

Reliable, safe, handles in all conditions, and can take a beating. The taco is a bit light in bed space, but it made up for it in style, speed, and reliability. The only thing I?d change is the cloth seats. No mechanical problems after 100k miles

Great Truck

I've only had this truck for a few weeks but so far I'm very pleased with it. Gas economy is good for a truck at around 19.5 with no lack of power with the v-6. Rides like a car but is great in the snow like a 4 wd truck should be.

Best truck I've ever had

Tough, reliable, basic truck. 306000.km and never been in the shop. Brakes are disappointing and have been since brand new, I just learned to live with it.

Worst truck ever!!

Not enough power to even tow a cat!! Engine make growling sound often, despite regular maintenance. No room for passengers.
