Great car!

I've had this car for 8 months now and odometer is up to 19,000 now. I haven't had ANY issues, I received free toyota care and the only thing i've had to pay for is a wheel alignment at 15,000. I plan to have this car for years and get my money worth!

A lot of car in a little economical package

My new Yaris is a fun little car. I have a hatchback and like all the storage space. I can fit my entire drum set in this car and still take my wife with me to a band job. The gas milage is great @ 40 mpg. The engine compartment is laid out well with easy access to maintenance items. Interior is comfortable. I have grown fond of the dashboard layout with the gauges in the middle and find myself missing this feature in other cars when I have to look around the steering wheel.

great car!

love the look, size and style was REALLY surprised about how the seats and back adjust to give you lots of room to haul things in. ONLY DOWN FALLs-cup holders, console, and the instruments on dash are in the middle instead of right in front of you

Pretty good car for the money worth

I especially like the middle dash board. It gives me unblocked view and I can put GPS right in front of me. The only thing I don't quite like is that the steering wheel doesn't smoothly return back after you made a turn. You have to undo the turn.

Best economy car ever!

We own four of these cars and absolutely love them! We first found out about them on Yahoo!'s top 10 list of least expensive cars to own. Yaris was number one! I get 40 mpg in my automatic. We have 3 2010's and 1 2008, hatchbacks, a 2-door, and 2 sedans. The hatchbacks have more headroom in the back seat than the sedans do. My husband is 6'3" and has plenty of room. They ride really nicely for a small car too! You'll love this car!

2 yr old granddaughter says that all the time! Me, too, I tell her. Small, a little sporty, handles well (except in HIGH winds/storms). All the things the website likes PLUS I actually like having the instrument panel in the middle so I can still see the road...never a problem. I chose it for gas mileage, mainly, because I really don't haul anything and the only action the backseat gets is when the granddaughter is back there in her carseat! Just had first oil change at 5K so I can't tell you about reliability yet...

2010 YARIS

I recently purchased a 2010 YARIS. I was lucky to find a dealer that had a "factory" car. Less than 5,000 miles. Why did I purchase a TOYOTA product.....answer....reliability. At first I found the center mounted instruments awkward however; after a week of driving the car I was used to the instruments being placed in the certer of the dash. One day, I just automatically looked to the center of the dash. I know, by reading other reviews that other owners do not like this arrangement....but I like it. Another complaint that I have read is that the driver has to reach his arms out to grip the steering wheen....I have gotten used to that too. I have taken the car out on the highway and made a 200 mile trip. I was VERY impressed with how the car handeled at high speeds.....I have read complaints about engine noise....in my openion it is low. When I did go out looking for another car I had already decided that I wanted a 5 speed manual transmission....My car has such a transmission. By using the gears properly, I have been able to receive 40+ miles to the gallon.....I usually get about 38 mpg.....Dealer service.....Toyota of Waldorf, Waldorf, MD. is GREAt.

Yaris

Great car overall! It does not provide much comfort or performance even so 106hp is quite enough for small car and despite typical toyota softness in suspension it handles quite well in the corners and acceleration is acceptable with 5 speed manual in a 3 door hatch. It's a different car if you prefer an automatic which has only 4 long gears - you are not getting much from 1.5L engine. The very base model starts cheap but it will not have what some people may consider acceptable (no rear window defogger-heater that is on every car) Price-wise with full options you might want to take at Corolla. I'm not a big fan of central display but on the other side it's a great opportunity to put a portable GPS where you would normally see tachometer. If budget is your greatest concern and you want a fun to drive car with good reliability reputation basic 3-door hatch 5 speed yaris should be on top of your list

I love this car

I purchased the Yaris because it was a great deal, cute, had fold down seats making it good for my dogs, and purported to have good gas mileage. It is much more comfortable and fun to drive than I expected. I get 34 to 37 mpg but the car isn't broken in yet having under 5,000 miles. This also means I can't address reliability.

Great Car

I've been driving a Yaris for a couple of years now, and I totally love it. The center-mounted instrument cluster took some getting used to, but now it's second nature and I like the speedometer NOT being obstructed by the steering wheel. The only thing I don't like is that the model with the stick shift doesn't come with a tachometer as part of the standard package - what's up with that??? But it handles like a dream - I can make U-turns on the narrowest of roads - and the mileage is fantastic. My mechanic loves it; he can get at everything easily. My mom drove it and now she wants one. Great car.
