fun for the money
this car is really fun to drive. It can be exciting to feel the wind in your hair and nip along the road.Had minor problems with the roof catching when putting it down but this was easily sorted by dealer.I looked at otherl hard tops but they were way more expensive.I also love the one button conversion from roof up to roof down. My friend liked my car so much she bought one.

MY EOS MAKES ME SMILE
Just approaching the 8,000 mile make, and my thunder blue EOS with cream leather interior remains a pleasure. So far, not a problem. The car is the perfect hardtop coupe with a gigantic sunroof...and when the top disappears in the trunk, it's pure fun convertible. I've read some gripes about small rear passenger space, but some of my larger friends have enjoyed 2 hour rides with no complaints. Even with the top in the trunk, I'm able to squeeze in 2 sand chairs, an umbrella, beach towels, a padded bumper guard for my garage, a bag of cleaning aids and a baseball cap. I'm starting to see more EOSs on the road---but not too many--and that keeps my car special.

Leary about electonics
Bought my eos in May 2007 and put 15000 mi's on it so far. Fun car to drive! Not a winter car. Handles ok, but top is very noisy in cold weather. Drivers side window is acting up. Window drops when car is unlocked but does not always go back up after entering car. Sometimes stays dropped after locking car. Hope its minor. This is my 5th VW. Love the brand!

What a car!
I traded in my 2003 Passat 6 cy. while on vacation in california, and waht a great decision it was. I really loved my passat, but this car is so much fun to drive. I have the 2.0 turbo automatic, and let me just say, this car can get up and go! I have actually churpped my tires while passing another car!. Since I live in the desert, the convertable top gets put down almost every day so far, and I have owned my EOS since June. My gas milege is better than rated. I run at 25.5 city all the time, and 32 on the highway. I have owned many Volkswagens in my years of driving, and this is right up there with the favorites! GREAT JOB VOLKSWAGEN!

Wunderbar
Just leased a new Eos. Its my first convertible and I'm impressed by several things: the flexibility of having either a normal car or a convertible, the great handling and performance (my previous car was an SUV). Of course, the good gas mileage is nice. There are lots of gadgets, I don't need those...wish I did not pay for them.

What a blast!
The Eos is a fun car to own and to drive. I love the ease of transforming the hard top into a convertible by pushing one button. It works flawlessly and people just stop and gawk as it retracts into the trunk. With the top up you have a very spacious and comfortable coupe that is quiet and well appointed. The mpg seems to be close to what is advertised and the extra few dollars that premium gas costs is worth paying for the great performance that it provides. I would recommend this car to anyone.

Not what I expected
When preparing for my latest purchase I was so inspired by the VW sports car. The power and quickness is good but after driving this vehicle for a couple thousand miles I noticed more road noise little plastic pieces in the interior that were making "Rattling" noises. The car goes through alot of oil. I suggest using Mobile 1 Synthetic oil. Be careful if your window motor goes bad expect to be spending around $500 for the window motor.

What a nifty car
I wasn't intending to buy, but I saw it, drove it, and fell in love for the first time in years!! And that was in February in snow country. Now that I can use the sunroof and the convertible top the car is even better. It has lots of zip, is easy to handle and keep under control on curvy country roads, and does the superhighways with much less noise and more solidity than my old convertible. I had a little trouble with the top initially, as a cable was loose, but the dealer fixed it and it has been fine since. I highly recommend for people of any age who still want to play!

Best convertible we could find
My wife and I went looking for a convertible almost a year ago. We looked at a wide range of hard and soft top convertibles and chose the EOS as actually the best available regardless of price. We wanted a sporty feel, red exterior, beige interior with comfortable seats and a power top in a convertible big enough for weekend trips. We started by looking at the Lexus SC430 which we decided was bland and uninspiring and a bit harsh riding for the price, but looks cool. Tested the BMW 330C which was great in many respects but a bit heavy and harsh as well. Thought the Volvo C70 might be great; tested a red with biege interior model that looked so wonderful but drove like a truck. Tested the Audi TT - too small. Tested the Audi A4 3.2 AWD which is really a great car. We were ready to spend $50,000 on it but they didn't have the colors and we especially didn't want the black top. We finally got around to looking at the EOS. We drove it and the next day we put down our deposit and four months later we got it. It is wonderful. We got at 2.0T red with biege interior. Manual transmission. Sport package (sport wheels, leather sport seats, upgraded audio with 6-disc CD and a couple other things). And the rear distance warning system. $36,000 including tax and title in Illinois. The back seat is basically for your luggage but 2 adults could ride a short distance or children would do fine. It has a light but solid feel. Best seats of any car we drove - power adjustable lumbar is great for anyone with back problems. Engine revs wonderfully. Nice short-through manual transmission. Easy to access controls. Full of features you expect in more expensive cars but not at this price. I wish it had memory seats and a homelink transmitter but otherwise it is perfect. This is the third convertible we have owned. The hard top is nice but not essential for us. We never considered the Pontiac G6, VW Beetle, Mercedes CLK or SLK, Mitsubishi Eclipse or Mazda MX5. The EOS is everything we were looking for at a lower price than we expected.
