Not a very good car

I have a tesla 3 and decided to get the VwI ID4 for my son. After 4 months I had to take it toothed dealer 4 times . The doors are giving me a lot of problems. Also the whole car is made of cheap materials. I think, for the money tesla 3 is a better car

Car broke in less than a year

I had ID4 since May 2021 and fell in love with it immediately. I loved everything about it: interior, exterior, the way it drives, money saved on gas with free electric charging stations. BUT! One sunny day about two months ago it stopped working. I could not even start it, red error message showed up on my screen. It was not movable, even the steering wheel was fully blocked. The toying guy was hardly able to load it on flat bed truck, because the wheels were blocked and the car was not responding to anything. Because these cars are relatively new, the dealership had to make arrangement with special techs, who knew this car. Week after week we receive updates for over two months now: first battery controller was changed, then some other part, then there was a software issue, now they are waiting for the third part for voltage control. There is no ETA, when the car is going to be fixed. If there is no good news in the next month, we are probably giving up on this car...

VW ID4 ProS - Happy

Bought our ID.4 on July 11, 2021. It is a ProS RWD. We have 21K miles on it and love it! I test drove the Model Y, the Mach e, and this. The Model Y didn’t have half the features that the ID.4 has. The Mach e didn’t feel as roomy. It was harder to get into the back seat. The VW was comfortable, roomy, and good looking. I love how the dash lights change color and feel confident that VW will stand behind its product should there ever be a problem. Our car was built in Germany, so I am not sure how that compares to the ones that are/will be built in America. The one thing I have noticed is that the car does not have 250 miles of range at full charge anymore. It is now about 220. We do drain the battery down until it reaches yellow or 40 miles remaining and charge it at home on a level 2 - 40amp charger. But this may be normal- not sure. Still happy!!

EV’s are the future … it’s time

Picked up February 5, 2022 Absolutely amazing from the moment we drove off the lot. Today is May 5, 2022 and 2,000 beautiful miles later. Haven’t had to add windscreen washer fluid yet. Lol We charge to 80% at home using 110vac and occasionally charge with Electrify America. Free for three years. It took awhile to adjust to the infotainment system. New technologies have a learning curve. All touch screens require just a light touch to activate … that’s really awesome. Once you get used to ‘Hello ID’ you can pretty much verbally request a whole bunch of things to operate without having to touch anything. Allowing you to keep your eyes on the road. So … there are many choices in the EV market today. Do your homework and make the best decisions you can. If you typically drive less than 100 miles per day electric might be for you. There are many posts about expensive electric bills, battery replacement cost and some so silly they aren’t worth mentioning. Thank you 🙏

Love our ID.4

Ten months since we bought our black ID.4 FE. Just now completed the 10k mile inspection service. Love our ID.4. Selling our ICE and keeping only ID.4 is one of the best decision that we made in 2021. Saves lot of money over gas. Super clean and don't even have to experience the smell of gas. It is powerful as a turbo charged ICE and absolutely fun to drive. Winter handling was decent and rage hit was not bad. Will never buy another ICE:) Don't worry about range. It is sufficient and new Electrify America charging stations are added every day. I am so confident with the car, that we planned for a vacation to Branson, MO from Cincinnati. No EA in Branson, many L2 free public chargers are there. Reserve one, be patient for it to arrive, sell your gas car!

Loving my ID4 at this price

I bought my ID4 last year and received it almost a year later. I have put a charger in my garage which is 40 amps. so haven't tried the Electrify America service. overall I am loving this car and I charge the car to 80% battery which gives me 215 miles per charge, at 100% it would be 240 miles, I bought a AWD Pro S, so i have a dual motor vehicle and the features on this car is amazing, it takes some getting used to on the VW information screen, which is a 12inch screen but once you have some training it works just fine, I am still learning on this but loving the pickup, ride, handling and quietness on this vehicle, The $7500 tax credit is great since I leased the car and they took that amount off the top when you lease.

A pleasure to drive

Thus all electric car (EV) from Volkswagen is a true SUV with interior and exterior similar to the Toyota RAV4. The rear wheel drive model gas plenty of pickup, a smooth, comfortable ride.

Volkswagen ID.4

I have only owned the car for about a month, but so far, so good. The car is easy to use and has a comfortable ride. It does take a bit of time to figure out the infotainment system, but once you master the important features it works well. Overall I am happy with the purchase of this electric vehicle.

New VW ID.4 Experience

The ID.4 has been great so far as an early adopter (in the US). The ID.3 and ID.4 platforms have been available in Europe for many months. Lots of the early model issues resolved. Typical fine German handling, fit, finish, and comfort. Great set of safety features. Range has been consistently at or better than EPA 260 miles (unlike experience with Tesla). This is a easy switch from gas to EV for SUV segment. Car has tons of space and plenty of room front and rear. There are a list of improvements and bugs that early owners have identified. Since VW is using over the air updates now, I expect the upgrades will be easier to implement. Nothing that is a major concern for me at this point. Finally, the maintenance requirements are like "fill the fluids and inspect" !
