2008 Volkswagen Jetta consumer reviews

Have put 100,000 MILES And Have Not Had Any Issues except normal ware parts. I am only righting this because I can't get to the website I want to. This review is true but if I was not redirected to this review it would not have wrote a review about my 08 jetta

Had some issues with the car, and the top of the engine had to be rebuilt at ~110,000 miles (Split the cost with the dealer). It never left me stranded, but once the (short) warranty expired I had at least one $500+ repair per year. That being said, it is fun to drive (2.0 Liter Turbo + Manual 6 Transmission), and gets good gas mileage (24-27 MPG combined, 32 MPG HWY).

Been VW owner for years. Love how they handle and the reliability of their cars! I am truly a loyal fan of Volkswagen!

The MKV Jetta is a great value. A lot of nice touches in this model that the later MKVI lower priced models do not have. While the 2.5 liter engine does not have a lot of love, it is smooth and has plenty of power.

This is by far the best car I had. And I had 2013 Nissan Sentra, 2012 vw Bora (Brazil), but 2008 Jetta 170hp is a very reliable car, simply it does not get parts broken whatsoever. Only basic oil, tires maintenance and it is good to go and its odometer marks almost 100,000 miles. Let another 100,000 come! Kudos to VW about this Jetta generation.

I had been searching for a while for this car and finally found exactly what I wanted close to home and a great deal!!!! Car has more than enough power to keep me happy and the engine has a nice growl to it when you hit the pedal on the freeway. Overall I am very happy far and look forward to driving this bad boy for years to come!!!!

Bought my 08 Jetta SE new. (Sunroof, heated seats, power seats, V-tec seats, leather wheel, leather shifter, Alloy whls, Surius radio, chrome pipes) Currently 102,000 and still looks new, Great fit and finish for the price. If this car had a upscale badge on the grille people would pay 30K even with whats in my car. Love the V-TEC seats, better than leather. Mines a 5-spd manual. I've been in upscale cars and yes they are awesome but for almost twice as much, Why? Save your coin. Still get German engineered car and for half the price. Only drawback would be HP. Mine is 170HP. A bit slow out of the gate. 200 would have been better. GLI has that, costs more, hindsight I should have bought the GLI. Only because of the HP. Jetta SE, A lot of bang for the buck. If you are getting one used, this is a well built car, but like any car, if it's well maintained, the Jetta is reliable. But do think VW has cut some corners with the 2014's, One obvious was the dashboard was plastic in the 2014 SE, mine is the molded soft rubber, much richer higher-end feel, also noticed no chrome pipes, And that's just from a quick glance. VW needs to put back what they left out. Anywho, VW is still a bargain reliable, fun to drive car.

Bought this car for my granddaughter. She loves the car. It is the perfect car for a new driver. She feels very safe driving it.

As a long time VW enthusiast, I knew pretty much to expect. Love the German design and engineering for Toyota prices.
