Pretty good

It was a nice car, and a pretty cheap to buy, but it was basically a "new old car" for a 2013 it had leather but no Bluetooth? Very chincy with the features

High Quality Reasonable Price

I love, love my Jetta. The Interior and Exterior styling is flawless. It drives incredibly smooth and I have no complaints about the gas mileage. You only change the oil every 10,000 miles, and you have to have a fully synthetic oil change, but cost wise it factors out to be about the same (I was changing my oil in my Camry every 3,000 miles for $35/$40, I usually pay $100 every 10,000 miles for my Jetta). It does great in the snow and rain. Repairs..this is the only thing that can hit your pocket book hard compared to other cars. Parts are expensive.

The rev hang is terrible

I bought a red Jetta 2.5 se after I rolled a Mazda rx8. I was traveling at highway speeds when a van crossed a double yellow line and I braked hard in a corner, sending me into a spin before flipping onto my roof and back onto my wheels again. That rx8 is legendary to me because I walked out without so much as a scratch. But anyway I decided not to get another sports car and decided to get a five speed Jetta in red. The red paint looks incredible on this car. I bought it at 35k and it now has 50k. I liked the idea of a smooth, naturally aspirated five cylinder and thought it would sound better than a four banger. It does sound better but it's less powerful than some of the modern four cylinders. I like the understated German looks and the hard plastic inside doesn't bother me at all because it isn't over stylized. After driving it for more than a year I find that the best bits are the stereo, the leather wrapped steering wheel, and the fuel economy. I average 32 mpg using regular fuel, which to me is impressive. Unfortunately the seats are too small, particularly under the leg, and therefore uncomfortable on long drives. Also the standard 5 speed is terrible. Terrible. It blocks you out of gears and the clutch feels vague, but the worst part is a thing called rev hang, which I never heard of before I bought this car. It means the revs don't drop when you push the clutch in to change up a gear, so you can't seamlessly walk through the gears as you would in, say, a Mazda rx8, or a 1998 Audi A4, or even a 2007 gti. I put up with it for now because I'm not in the financial position to upgrade, but it gets tiresome when you're an enthusiast and all you wanna do is walk through the gears as your engine screams to 9,000 white hot rpms and instead you have to sit patiently and do maths while you wait for the computerized nanny to let the engine speed drop down so you can release a limp clutch or else drop the clutch like you normally would and ride everywhere on a bucking bronco.

One of the most underappreciated Daily Driver

The Jetta is really in its own niche category. I would say the closest competitor is the Honda Civic. The reason why the Civic is a direct competitor because it can be sporty but still easy to drive and use for day to day tasks. Pros : - Spacious Cabin - Good MPG - Large Trunk Space(for it's class) - A/C is very strong (hot & cold) Cons: - Hard plastics around the driver's right knee is uncomfortable - Hard plastics next to the door on the rear back seats can get uncomfortable - Voice recognition system is a bit clunky

Not a bad car at all.

It was a reliable car for the 2 1/2 years i drove it, lacked a little performance but the paddle shifters were fun, handled amazing and suspension is top notch when on highway and going around corners and bumpy roads.

Well rounded commuter car with excellent gas milea

We purchased a used 2013 Jetta from a local VW dealership and have been very pleased with the car's performance, in particular the combination of the 6 speed automatic and 2.0L 4 cylinder. While not the fastest car when pulling away from a traffic light, the 2.0L has enough HP and torque to get the job done. In addition, we're getting amazing fuel economy! Around town it's not uncommon for us to get between 28 and 30 MPG! On longer drives taking place on highways we will easily attain 36 to 38 miles to the gallon. Criticisms? If you're six foot tall or more, you won't find enough rear seat headroom and the upholstery could be a bit more plush. Otherwise for commuters of average height, the Jetta should serve you well for many miles and many years and keep your fuel costs well within your budget!

Perfect 1st Car

Bought this car when I turned 17, and it's quality is amazing. Interior is up to date, and includes a touch screen, heated seat, sun roof, you name it. Upon looking at other cars such as a new Mitsubishi Lancer, I found that the Jetta comes with things that other newer cars lack. Drives smoothly and haven't had a problem with the car. Even the outside has a modern look. The car is extremely reliable and hasn't given me any problems.
