Love the Tiguan S, except for the spound system.

This car is far superior to my previous 2021 Toyota RA4. In my distant youth I use to do some racing and handling is highest priority. Suspension, steering, 17" alloy wheels vs 15" steel wheels with hubcaps, full spare tire vs doughnut, 3 row seating vs 2 rows, 400 lbs heavier therefore more stable in windy conditions and roads that are not level, and much more. Only downside is the general Volkswagen issue with poor sound systems. Not only that, the after market is almost non-existent for the Tiguan.

Tiguan saved my life.

I've always absolutely loved this car for ALL of its awesomeness, but I decided to write this review today because my Tiguan saved my life. I've owned it for 5 years and enjoyed all of it - for its reliability, performance, comfor, style - you name it. But today, thanks to this car and its safety (airbags performance in particular), I am still alive, so I wanted to write this review because this car truly deserves it. Thank you to all the people who've made this car.

Comfortable, Roomy, Value, but lacks performance

The 2020 Tiguan is a great family vehicle for room and comfort, and style, but lacks performance. I would not recommend this vehicle to a friend, because of the insufficient performance of the engine.

Just bought

Had my 2020 Tiguan SE for 1 week now and we are having bad weather in Chicago. It is driving great in the snow and iciy streets. Rides real smooth. Love it so far!

Airbag Drama

The airbag just exploded while driving at a low speed zone. That's dangerous. I thought I it was the best car I had till the incident. Now the car is at the dealership and I am still fighting for a curtecy car.

Second Tiguan we've owned

We had a 2018 Tiguan SEL, the first year with the lengthened body. We loved the car, but with 40,000 miles on it we decided to trade it in for a 2020, trading up to the Tiguan SEL Premium R-Line - the top of the line. This car has all the bells and whistles, and it drives and performs better than the 2018. I don't know if that's because it's an R-Line or that the newer Tiguans had some performance and handling tweaks. Anyway, this is an awesome car - lots of interior space, great looking and filled with features. I can't see why anyone would buy an Atlas, which had about the same capacity, costs a lot more and, with a six cylinder vs the Tiguan's turocharged four, gets worse gas mileage.

Great Car

Plenty of pep, well styled, I completely forgot about the third row of seats until I test drove it but those two extra seats really put it over the top for me.

Solid vehicle, but with annoying features.

The car has too many features that while designed to aid in safe operation are in fact distracting and of limited utility. The feature described as a navigation system is nothing more than a moving map display and useless for true navigation. A real disappointment. I prefer my window mounted Garmin that is interactive while in motion. This option was a waste of money. While some of the driving aides can be turned off they are not as selectable as desired. Turning off a useless feature may also disable a useful one. Very frustrating. Also storage space is mot as good as it was in my 2009 Tiguan. The open areas on the sides of the cargo area catch all kinds of debris and are hard to clean out and the exposed ends of the cargo area cover are easily damaged and create a hazard. Did not realize what a poor design this was until the first time we loaded groceries. This car is primarily for my wife’s use and she likes driving it but is annoyed by the features mentioned above. I on the other hand am learning to hate the car and regret buying it.

Switched from RAV4

I've only had it for about 1 month, but it is living up to my very positive initial impressions. It is quieter and more comfortable than my previous RAV4.

I love the style of the car

I love all the access of the technology for safety. The third row was a plus as well. Plenty of leg room and the side of the SUV is a plus.

Like the new Tiguan

This is my third Tiguan. This model has more interior room. It has better performance than ever. I have no worries about reliability as the previous two were great

I love my Tiguan!!

I basically bought my car for car trips. We have taken one car trip and found the gas mileage to be better than what is advertised. It's very comfortable to ride in. We actually took my car camping and was able to sleep in the back comfortably. I'm so happy with my Tiguan.

Disappointed

The 2020 is a downgrade from the 2017 model. Interior materials are cheap. Upholstery is thin and the seats look out of place. Road sounds are louder due to the cheaper interior appointments. The third row of seats serve no purpose although keeping them closed does give more interior storage room. I got stuck with Giti brand tires so ride and handling are adequate but nothing special. It does accelerate faster but that was never an issue with the 2017. Overall grade a C and I wish I had kept the 2017 or looked elsewhere.

Great looking, practical vehicle and fun to drive!

This car is the perfect size for me and my family. In addition, the tiquan is a great looking car, inside and out, and the ride is so smooth!
