Best CAR/SUV that I've ever owned

What an amazing vehicle! From the exhilarating V6 TDI torque, fuel efficiency, highway cruising comfort/range to interior quality and exterior styling. The Touareg TDI is quite the machine. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned next to my previous Audi S5. Love it! It is a shame that VW no longer offer TDI equipped vehicles in the U.S. even after being able to comply by emissions standards.

Overall very pleased with Touareg

2014 Touareg Lux V6 - Treg now has 85K and had to do some unusual work ie water pump and ac blower motor but otherwise the treg is great the acceleration and shifting is fantastic and the trim level and options compare to high level cars

Has exceeded my expectations from day 1.

Porsche sold the Cayenne in the $70ks, , Audi sold the Q7 in the $60ks, and VW sold the Touareg in the $50ks. They are the same car in different trim, and it shows. My Touareg is an amazing vehicle. At 75,000 miles it is squeak- and rattle-free, dead reliable, pulls stumps (in TDI trim my Touareg is rated to tow 7700 lbs) and delivers 29 mpg, and still looks brand new. When the VW dieselgate scandal came out it was unclear whether the lawsuit would require VW to buy back all Touaregs. So I looked around to see what I might buy to replace it, for the same or more money. I came up empty. Nothing at or near the price point can touch it. My favorite things about the Touareg; it rides quiet as a vault, with no rattles or squeaks; it has great pickup thanks to the huge diesel torque; the seats are supportive without being too firm, with great adjustability; the door seals are big and keep out all wind noise; rear seat passengers have plenty of room; the panoramic sunroof; the towing capacity; the subdued styling, inside and out, which will never get "dated." Least favorite things about the vehicle: that VW's cheating brought on dieselgate, resulting in plummeting resale values. For those interested in buying one used, though, it's a great opportunity.

Best I've Ever Had

For many years I have had Ford Explorers and Expeditions. I have enjoyed them, but found that they were unable to do the heavy towing that I needed. With a towing capacity of 7500 lbs, the Touareg was more than up to the challenge. When towing, you barely feel the drag, and there is only a slight drop in mileage, at least in the TDI model that I own. It is the smoothest and most comfortable vehicle that I have ever owned, bar none. It has a spacious interior and is very well equipped. If there is any downside, it would be that it has very limited storage for family trips, but we have made it work with five people loaded for a week's vacation.

Quality in every aspect

This SUV is one heck of a vehicle. The towing performance for a mid size SUV at 7700 lbs is just wonderful. Developed with Porsche it is the vehicle no one thinks about or really knows how good it really is. It handles like a sports car and rides fantastic. If you haven't experienced a Touareg you don't know what you are missing.

Great compact SUV

Amazing power, comfort and ergonomics. Tragic that Bw will not make any More compact diesels. These are by far better then the gas options that are available today.

Best riding vehicle Volkswagon made

I judge a car by style and comfort. I am very comfortable driving this vehicle long distances. It has a quiet ride. The interior room is just right for me. The reliability is top notch...VW makes great cars.

Touring, a fantastic automobile

This car its comfortable and reliable whether I am driving around town, cruising down the highway (sometimes at speed), or if I am driving on sand or a dirt and rocky road. This car does it all with comfort, reliability, and with ease. She has great towing capability as well.

Awesome SUV

I own a Touareg Sport V6 3.6 with navigation package. Probably the most underrated midsize SUV on the market. Especially as used it is great value for the money. Beautiful both on the outside and inside. Super quiet and comfortable. Powerful engine, confident handling and lots of space and practical features. It feels solid and with good finish everywhere. No issues. It also has 7700 lbs towing capacity which is better than most SUVs and many trucks. I also test drove a BMW X5 and didn't like it. The Touareg felt better in every way so it was an easy choice. Very happy with my Touareg.
