2014 Volkswagen Touareg consumer reviews

Best vehicle I ever owned. May not be saying much, but I love it. V6, AWD, GPS, Leather, not too big, not too small.

The Touareg is a spacious SUV that drives with performance handling like a car. I primarily used the Touareg for city driving around Denver, but was easily able to take it up to the mountains in any conditions. Handles wonderfully in rain and snow.

I love my 3.6L RLine Touareg. Great in all conditions; lots of room inside for people and stuff. I have had no issues with the vehicle. The ride is great and quiet. My only mild disappointment in the engine performance. I wish there were a gas powered engine that is turbo charged. The TDI motor would be better, but stayed away because of the issues VW has had. Previously owned an Audi Q5 and love the Touareg in all aspects except the engine power.

We have been driving a 2014 Touareg TDi for two weeks now and all around love it. The TDi punch is fun and pushed you in the seats already at low RPMs and the gas mileage so far has been great. Getting consistently 29mpg on the highway and about 23mpg in suburban town driving. Even though the car is two years old it's super solid, nothing rattles, handling and cornering are nice and firm. The trunk is not the biggest, e.g. compared to a 2014 Ford Explorer, but second row seating space is plenty and all seats are really comfortable - especially compared to the Explorer. The Executive trim level has all the bells and whistles you'd like. Fantastic car so far.

There are not many cars that have the pluses that actually sold me on this vehicle. In fact, VW changed their maintenance offering after this model year so it was definitely a built in cost saver! 1. 2 years Scheduled Maintenance 2. Lifetime Powertrain Warranty 3. Comfortable 2nd row seating for adult-size kids 4. GPS, Audio-Video, SD-slots(2), Bluetooth, USB ports front and rear. phone connectivity and adapters. 5. Understated Acceleration(power), responsive steering. 6. Understated elegance, not for those who want to "show off". Beautiful interior and exterior. Leather heated seats in front (needs them in the rear). 7. Trunk beautiful with folding rear seats, emergency tire and air pump for it. Small tool kit (essential for emergency tire). Lighting for trunk (yeah). Onboard systems monitor, tire pressure, oil etc. 26 gallon fuel tank though not the greatest fuel economy (maybe the diesel is better?) but I average about 17.8 around town because I resist the temptation to gun it in town. On the highway I have cruised at 90+ MPH and little to no change in handling other than being more conscious of making decisions to anticipate cornering, or braking for animals etc. 8. I wanted the tow package and was really surprised at the cars ability to handle additional weight with respect to acceleration and braking. What a surprise, it doesn't lack for power and braking was solid even in wet and icy conditions. I made my purchase overseas while stationed in Germany and had it delivered stateside. The dealership that received it was great at getting me going and up to speed on services and how to's which were in the manual (very thorough manual). When I get another one, I'll get the diesel with the moon roof mainly because I'd like to take a night drive and have the moon shining through the top. I love this car!
