Best car I ever owned.

Meet all my needs and then some. Great value for the money. Very underrated brand. Never had a problem with this car. The dealer (Jenkins which was bought by Fields) has been great to deal with (purchase, trade-in, service, etc.). Have dealt with the same salesman since the last century. Planning to buy another Volvo. AWD is great in the snow.

Fabulous car!

This is my 2nd Volvo. It's a 2010 S80 AWD executive with a V8 engine. This car is pure class and luxury. It drives and handles like a dream. The ride is smooth and comfortable with plenty of legroom for backseat passengers. I bought it new. It's 7 years old and has been serviced regularly. Doesn't even have 40k miles on it. My dilemma: I LOVE that new S90! Not certain I'd like that turbo since the V 8 is no longer an option. Can someone help with that? V8 vs turbo? Pro/con ? If/when I sell this car, someone will be getting a beautiful, classy car!

Smooth Ride with Pep in its step!

I bought a used 2010 S80 T6 and I really enjoy driving this vehicle. It has a smooth ride and is quick. The interior is well designed and it has a great sound system in it. The only issue I have is that some AWD Volvo's and especially the S80 seems to have an issue with the rear differential. If it is under warranty you are good to go. However, if you do not have a warranty the cost to replace the part is $5000 at the dealer and if you are lucky and can find one, $3000 for a used one. Unfortunately, this model and year of Volvo has to have a rear differential that matches it exactly. No other year or model can be used on the 2010 S80 T6. Not even a 2009 or 2011. If you are buying a S80, please have this checked out before purchasing it. If the rear differential is going bad, you can tell because you will hear a howling sound coming from the rear of the car when you are coasting around 40-50 mph. It is difficult to hear if the radio is too loud, but if the radio of off or turned down low you can definitely hear it. From what I understand, it usually starts going bad as the car approaches the 100,000 mile mark. I would suggest getting any used Volvo checked out by a dealer before purchasing it. It only cost a couple hundred bucks to get it put on the machine and checked out, but believe me it will be the best $200 you ever spent. The S80 is a really nice car and the AWD is great to have when needed. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who enjoys a smooth ride with the speed to match it. Just make sure you get it checked out if you are buying a used one.

Best AWD sedan for under 30,000

This is fabulous car, and a terrific value. I test drove EVERY late model AWD sedan that could be had for under 30,000 -- Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, Ford, Lincoln, Mercedes, etc. -- and this was far and away the best performing, best handling, most confortable car among them. Actually purchased the first 2011 that showed up on the market (and still for under 30,000). The T6 is a little rocket engine, suprisingly quick. The audio system was way better than any of the others, and the seats are without a doubt the most confortable. The car is also available with heated rear seats (which my kids love). And the blind-spot detection system is a really nice feature. I love the minimalist interior styling -- no stupid touch screen with multiple layers to navigate just to change the fan speed -- and the materials and quality are first-rate. If you are looking for a premium AWD sedan you must be sure to check out the S80 -- you're going to be in for a very pleasent surprise.

Solid, fun, under the radar

There are better looking and performing cars out there, but it's hard to beat the V8 for under the radar fun and value. As a mercedes and Audi owner, I can say this car is not as sexy and flashy, but it drives really well, feels solid, and will become my daughters car in three years when she begins to drive. Also nice to no longer get the finger from other drivers like I did in the big Benz sedan!!! If you can find a loaded V8, go for it!!!

Great Value

Purchased an 2010 S80 and was really surprised at the value of the overall package. The discounts and no cost maintenance plan made this a very attractive vehicle. The interior is nicely appointed without too may gimmicks - glad to see Volvo has not gone to the big knob that controls the climate system, navigation, radio, etc. The seats and driving position are excellent. The car handles nicely with a great balance of comfort and performance. The 3.2 normally aspirated is more than adequate - would like a bit more punch, but the trade-off for gas milaege is not worth the seldom used horsepower. The highway ride is exceptional and it handles the bumps and pavment changes in city driving very well. Consider the overall package as compared to similar Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, and Acura models, this car is an excellent choice, especially when considering price. The safety systems and Volvo reputation for safety innovation add to the confidence of this purchase.

S80

This car gets very little press but is an excellent choice. The styling changes for 2010 make a significant difference from the previous years. Accents and subtle grill changes as well as dual exhaust make this car an elegant presence. The car comes with all the goodies and is substantially less expense than its counterparts, like $10k minimum. The car in a 3.2 version is not super-sporty but drives extremely well and is very quiet. The back seat can be a little tight if the front passenger is very tall. I average 25 mpg in a mix of in town and hwy. driving. I also received the 5 year free maintenance as part of the purchase and that sealed the decision.

What a treat

Upgrading from the S60 to the S80 was a great decision. The S80 is a great car that combines style, performance, elegance, safety. I am super satisfied withe the car overall performance and comfort. The car looks so good that valet attendants constantly keep the car in the front.
