great car

This car has been great. Good for kids but still stylish. The car handles well. My family and I really love it. We bought the car because of a third child. I feel so safe in this car with my kids. I especially live the built in booster seat! Highly recommend.

Very safe, most reliable and all the comfort

I was looking for a earlier model used SUV and I found in USA. I imported this vehicle in Ontario Canada with no problem. Why not save more with our high Canadian dollar. This is the best vehicle.

XC90

I bought a Certified one from the Volvo dealer in Rockville. What a great value. My car has 100,000 miles warranty on it and I spent less for it than a New car with only 60,000 miles of warranty. We looked at the New cars also, but decided against it. Being a Safe car was the most important factor for my wife becuase of our three kids.

Need a Safe SUV?

Great vehicle for safety. My wife and I had a newborn and the safety profile of the XC90 was a lot better than other SUVs we explored(Traverse, Acadia, MDX).

Love it!

Bought a used Volvo XC90, being careful to avoid the T6 transmission thanks to the reviews on this site. I have had no problems whatsoever, and love the way it drives - smooth like butter.

New Volvo Owner

I needed a car with carpooling space but did NOT want a mini van or a truck like car. This Volvo has everything, styling, 3 seats, comfort and it looks cool. I have not had it but 3 months but I love it. I get about 20 miles per gallon - I have frequently carried 5 kids at a time... it was great and the kids love the car too.... So far so good... I would highly recommend it...

WORSE CAR TO OWN BEWARE!!!

If I have to start listing all the problems I had with this car there would be not enough space to write it!!! From Leaks, to transmission to CD changer, to horn and many more and expensive parts that went wrong!. Even the key went bad on me!!! The styling is very nice, but you won't enjoy it as it will be in the shop most of the time. BTW to fix that car it cost triple than any other brand, so make sure you have money !

great value luxury SUV

I've now driven almost 2200 miles with my XC90 3.2. No mechanical or other problems. The ride is a bit stiff but that does help the handling. Overall, it is an easy to handle car, but one does notice it is big and heavy. The AWD keeps it on the road all the time and it doesn't flip/ flop turning corners as much as other SUV's. But it does a bit the tendency to go straight when turning corners, probably based on it being a primairily FWD based car. The 3.2 is a nice engine, with enough power to handle the car and a full load of passengers and luggage. I can imagine with the weight of the car that the V8 would be a lot nicer to drive, although the milage will be even worse. We like al the safety and luxury options, BLIS, rear seat entertainment etc. I do advise to take the premium audio. The standard audio is a bit flat and lacks a booster (and satelite radio would be nice too with long trips). I also considered the X5 (pretty, but 5 seats and much more expensive) and the Highlander hybrid (really ugly looking) but , the invoice price of the XC90 was average $10,000 less than a Highlander or BMW. My perception of the overall quality and value of the car (first 2200 miles) is great.

Most Comfortable vehilce I have owned

I am a US citizen living in Germany. I picked up my US spec'ed XC90 in Sweden at the factory center and drove back to Germany. The vehicle handles very well and is the most comfortable vehicle I have driven. I also feel very safe in the XC90. Due the more liberal speed limits in Europe, I have driven the vehicle in excess of 100 mph without any problems. My gas mileage on a recent trip at speeds in excess of 70 mph on average was nearly 18mpg. This is great considering the size and weight of the vehicle. However like any vehicle that is tall, you can feel the wind pushing against the vehicle on a bridge or something like this. My two boys love the places to put game boy games and transformers. We can fit seven people and still have room for some luggage! I have co workers who have BMW X5s and the storage capacity in the XC90 is larger?. And they are jealous. Excellent vehicle and well worth the price

The first Month has "rattled" my ocnfidence!

I've been in the XC90 for 25 days and the dealer has had the car for 21 days getting a rattle out of the front end suspension. Turns out that it was just a front strut top plate bushing that was causing the low speed issue. The trips in the identical loaner have been great, smooth, and the 3.2l six averaged 21.7 hwy at 70mph +. We would leave the car after long trips and felt refreshed. I have 4 little ones and the car likens itself to having "Swiss army knife" like capibilities. It really does have a great deal of capabilities, storage, and is smoooooooooooth! One issue that I find annoying is the torque steer, which is really noticable while truning into traffic under moderate to full power, and it will really spin the tires if you get into the throttle. All-in-all, if I had to do it over, I would buy this car again, it is however disappointing that a new car has issues. After all, it is safer than anything else on the market, and had the looks, performance, and ride that puts it into a very sweet spot that the Germans, Japaneese, and American auto manufacturers only have components, and not the complete package. Comparing the XC90 to the rest of the car based SUV pack, you can get better mileage, better reliability, and better performance. However, if you are looking for Safety, style, comfort, convenience, flexibility, and solid performance, then this is a consideration for your short list. Hope this information helps! And no I am not in the industry, just an owner that clicked on the review this auto...
