This is an update from my February 1, 2019 review. I have now owned the vehicle for nearly seven years. I’ve personally driven nearly 20,000 miles in it. The vehicle now has nearly 50,000 miles on the odometer. I purchased it certified pre-owned from a BMW dealership. I have maintained the vehicle to manufacturer specifications. I have only paid for routine maintenance. I have paid for zero repairs. My previous review is confirmed. Full disclosure, two repairs were covered under warranty by the BMW dealership when I purchased the vehicle and one other repair was performed by a different BMW dealership due to their mistake during a routine service.

My 2013 BMW X1 xDrive 28i has been more than just a car; it's been a dependable part of my daily life for the last 8 years. The driving experience remains as smooth and responsive as it was on day one, a testament to the enduring quality of BMW engineering. What impresses me most is how little I've had to invest in repairs. Beyond the standard maintenance - oil changes, brake pads, and tires - the only significant replacement has been the battery. This minimal upkeep cost is remarkable for a vehicle of its age. The interior has held up beautifully, offering comfort and a touch of luxury that hasn't faded over time. Its performance in different weather conditions, especially with the xDrive all-wheel system, has been nothing short of stellar, providing a sense of security and stability on the road. The fuel efficiency is also commendable for a car of its class. In summary, the BMW X1 xDrive 28i is a model of reliability and enduring value. It's a vehicle that combines practicality with the pleasure of driving, making it an ideal choice for anyone seeking a high-quality, compact SUV experience. So reliable and fun to drive, even in snow. I’m tall and seats are comfy, even in rear. Very versatile with good cargo space. Love the kick-to-open rear door. Mileage is around 28 mpg, it requires premium fuel. It drives a little sluggish when not in Sport mode.

I’ve had this car for seven years. I’ve had to change the water pump once two years ago and just recently the valve gasket. apart from that over the last seven years nothing else needed to be fixed or replaced. Currently has just over 150,000 km. I absolutely love this car drives super well. It’s not a lemon doesn’t give me any headache, I live in Canada in the winter it is very icy lots of snow and I just have no issue whatsoever with his vehicle. Car is paid off still looks brand new no rust scratches just as white as the day I purchased it. I cannot recommend this car enough. I absolutely love it. Also, the service of BMW when it was guaranteed, was beyond excellent , if I had to buy another car, I would most probably buy another BMW. I’m gonna use this car until it completely gives out. I can’t imagine that happening anytime soon as it is still in mint condition in my opinion.

Inquired on a BMW they had advertised, was quickly contacted via text by Melissa where we spoke for a bit and she answered all my questions. I scheduled an appointment and delt with Luis the sales rep and T the finance manager who were really nice and knowledgable about the whole experience. Over all i got a great deal on my 4 series with exactly where i wanted to be at as far as monthly payment and APR :) thanks UAC!

2020 X1 w/sport seats and convenience package, purchased in 2023. Positive notes: It's a true BMW: sure-footed, agile, and no shortage of power when needed. It feels remarkably glued to the road despite its small size. Handles as well as my former 3 series and is just as fun to drive. Storage space is good. Ergonomics are good once you figure out all the technology. Negatives: Ride is a bit bumpy, even for a sporty car, which is apparently caused by the run-flat tires. If I was buying new, I'd get standard tires and a real spare, which fits in the storage space in the back. Sensatec seats are hot. In retrospect, I'd hold out for leather. Overall, I recommend this car if you're looking for something small, practical, full-featured and sporty.

Great for a small/short person. Not comfortable for tall people. Love all the premium features. All leather interior, navigation, heated seats and steering wheel, memory seating. Electric adjustable passenger seat. Not a great sound system though.

Smallest SUV in the range and it still drives confidently. Plenty of power and torque from the turbo 4-cylinder. A very refined ride. Interior appointments remind you that you’ve bought a quality car.

Although the car we wanted didnt work out, the customer service was excellent. MARCUS is a STAR! He should be in management. I have brought many mercedes in the past. Carmax is turning the tide when it comes to purchasing vehicles. The best thing to do when you buy any car is to take it to another mechanic, and then bring it back to the place to be fixed within the warranty period. The Truck I purchased from them a year ago had a few issues but they did take care of it and I've not have any problems since. Carmax has set the bar high for purchasing returning and anything to do with cars. BRAVO!

I couldn't be happier with this vehicle. It was made for ME! Its height makes it easy and painless to enter and exit the driver's seat with my arthritic knees....I just slide in & out in nicely! The "head up" feature is very helpful every day. Those are the best headlights ever for night driving. No complaints from this customer-in her 3rd X!

I've had three 2015 X1's. Drove the wheels off one, one got stolen and on my third. Love this car! So economical and the gps is off satellite, not cell tower. Get maps ANYWHERE, for life. I only have 72k on it and will be my last vehicle.

The first thing one notices is the quietness of the ride. After that, the handling - surefooted and solid. Love the extensive sunroof. Only owned the car a short while, so hard to comment on value for the money, but loving the easy acceleration of this car and the smooth handling around curves. I wanted a smaller vehicle since usually just me, but one that can handle winter driving and steep hills. The X1 more than fits that bill.

Its too soon to know about reliability but the performance is outstanding. It maneuvers beautifully in city traffic as well as interstate driving. It is quiet and feels put together well.
