Used 2022 BMW X5 xDrive40i for sale near Falls Church, VA

Our 2022 X5 was a beautiful car to us. Unfortunately it didn't work for us as my wife is handicapped and found it difficult to get in and out of - it's higher than one would expect and came to realize the seats are more inboard than other cars that are direct competitors. The 3 inch door sill was almost like a running board and contributed to her struggles. Even though we had the multi-contour seats, we found the lower cushion seat side bolsters too firm for any drive more than an hour. The seat back was fine. While driving around town and 2 lanes was great, it didn't track as well on the highway as one would expect, even after an alignment (it was off at delivery). Our old Volvos were much better in that regard. The positives include the exterior and interior design/layout, the quality, ride, handling and power. It also still has a few buttons, albeit a bit small when driving. The headlights were awesome and the gas mileage was better than expected, 21 around town and 28+ on the highway. Our situation is unique, and after 7 months we sold the car to a tall, able bodied couple.

Only had the X5 for 4 weeks now but so far it is an awesome vehicle that runs and drives great. It appears to be very well built with good body lines and fit. Some of the safety features and electronic systems take some time to get set up properly for the best driving experience but the reward is well worth the time as everything is customizable for two drivers. Only bad thing is that a mower along the roadside threw a stone and put a chip in our paint and the paint isn’t self healing.

You always judge the dealership by the quality of service and this is where BMW of Fairfax in my view above all in the area. I’ve been to a few BMW dealerships for service on this and other vehicles. As with any dealership experience, it pays to use a single service advisor versus taking whomever you can get. The experience is best if you can develop some kind of rapport with a single person. Dealership service experiences are generally just ok and Sterling can be hit or miss as well. Some things are not great - it’s almost impossible to get a human on the phone, the check-in system is confusing; you’re supposed to wait in your car for someone to come to you, but you end up sitting there so long you wonder if anyone notices you’re there and if you approach any of the service advisors at their desks, they send you back to your car. But if you can get someone on a good day and get on their good side, the service can be better than average. I’ve had better than average experiences with Julie and Sarina if you want to start with them.
