I purchased a 2004 Deville in 2004. I had this auto until 2018 At 54,000 miles the block cracked on it. I had it for 14 years and it was the best car I ever owned. I’m kicking my self cause I should have put a new engine in it. My Deville was a special edition with a rag top and special grill, chrome over wheel wells, etc. I do regret getting rid of it. It was a beautiful auto.

1990's Luxury & Style
Our family car since 1992. Low mileage & dependable. The few negatives: The driver's door window "run channel" needs replacing. It guides the front edge of the window, up & down. Although the regulator/motor & flex-track are brand new & work flawlessly! You get a new-in-box AC-Delco power antenna (factory-exact replacement). The chrome is peeling on the special alloy wheels. Limited ad space forces me to list these features here in "Review."

We had a great experience. Scott Johnson was our salesman and was absolutely terrific. We also had great interactions with the Sales Manager and the Finance Department. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new car!!
THE Car to buy
An excellent vehicle. Extremely reliable. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone interested in a long-mileage vehicle. At 150,000 miles, you can still get another 100,000 out of it. Even an early 1990's model.

64' Cadillac Coupe DeVille and Sedan DeVille.Car
It was the first year with the 429 engine. It put out 340 horsepower and 0-60 was 8.9 seconds. Not bad considering most of the Chevy's and Fords on the road at that time had 283's, 327's, 352's, and 390's that were running O-60 in numbers from 9.1 second to 10.9 seconds.

Powerful, reliable V8
This 18 year old Car has "lasted 10 years" like it should, as the song says. Its still smooth, powerful, and everything still works. The original white paint still looks like new. Of course, the previous owner obviously took care of it, and I will too. Heads turn, when I arrive in this, even tho, Used, I paid about 20 cents on the dollar for what most new ones cost. Sure, I miss the backup camera, the blind spot monitor, and adaptive cruise of my newer cars, but, I fixed the BSM with a small round concave mirror which eliminated that blind spot. I feel very safe in the powerful big car, that gets surprisingly great mileage on the hiway, sometimes close to 30 miles per gallon, with an average of around 27 hiway. Of course its much worse around town, stop and go. The trunk is so large, that a small family could move in the trunk and live there. Well not quite. This model is the "fleet livery" model. I understand that GM put a 3 year 150,000 mile warranty on the fleet models.. you dont want it to break, so that warranty is a vote of confidence. I think a big difference between "fleet" models and the regular Caddy, is the fleet has an oversized radiator, and holds 60 percent more oil. This is important because radiators tend to clog up, reducing capacity, over time, and causing the engine to heat up. Overheating is a killer of engines and this massive radiator keeps it cool no matter what. It also takes extra oil..8 quarts. That keeps it cool, too. It costs a little more oil at oil changes, But that's but its a small price to pay for a very reliable car.

My Favorite Car
I purchased a 2004 Cadillac DeVille in 2005, and drove it for fifteen years - it was absolutely my favorite car, there was nothing on the market I would rather have had - the ‘04 DeVille was the perfect for me! The DeVille was large and powerful with the Northstar V8 under the hood, and the ride was smooth as silk. Sure it handled like a boat, but cornering isn’t the reason you drive the DeVille, it’s all about the soft comfortable ride and the quiet, luxurious cabin. The interior was spacious, attractive, with nice amenities (lovely wood trim, leather seats, power everything), and well thought out - gauges easy to read, layout of controls made sense, there was even a double visor set up, where if you put the visor (with a slide out extension) to the side window a smaller visor was available to flip down in the front. The split bench seats were incredibly comfortable, literally every passenger who ever rode in that car commented on how comfortable it was, and in my car the soft, perforated leather seats were heated and cooled. The car did have some mechanical issues over the years, however. At about 60K the window regulators started breaking - every one broke at least once, two windows twice! Motor mounts broke around 100K, there was an axel issue, and at about 180K the car broke down with a serious cooling problem. There were a couple of other pricey (around $1,000. per repair) issues over the years, but can’t recall what they were. The engine and transmission remained solid, however, until the last year I owned the DeVille, when the service engine light kept coming on and one of the cylinders began misfiring. Last year, at about 190k, we traded (almost no trade in value) my ‘04 in on a 2018 Cadillac XTS, which, sadly, was no comparison in ride quality and comfort to the DeVille. The XTS was so disappointing I sold it in less than a year and purchased a Lexus. There is nothing in today’s market as large and comfortable as the DeVille, and I wish we had kept mine and “refurbished “ it. If you love the comfort of the American cars of yesteryear, don’t mind driving an out of style vehicle, and happen across one of these beauties in great condition, it might be something to consider, but do be prepared to spend thousands of dollars as the car continues aging and needs repairs! Loved my ‘04 DeVille!

1962 Sedan deVille
My parents bought our 6-window Sedan deVille as a 2-year-old cherry used car in 1964. Then they made the mistake of setting me loose with it. I ran the bejeebers out of it, and it held up quite well. I took it drag racing on Telegraph Road many a night. I won far more than I lost. The 390 and four-speed Hydra-Matic ran far better than you'd expect of a 4660 lb. car. I road raced it wherever I could find a curvy road. Softly sprung, without the anti-roll control of today, the car would heel over and get a set, and then we were good to go. Stable, predictable, controllable. I four-wheel-drifted it when I found the appropriate constant-radius curved roads. Such antics would probably be much more difficult with today's tires. I remember one guy standing in his front yard shaking his fist as I whizzed past, drifting by at reckless youthful exuberance speed. Admittedly, not smart. It had great brakes for the era, 12" finned cast iron drums all around. They would stop the car straight and quickly. I rate this car compared to a few of its contemporaries that I rode in. One of my best buddies' parents had a '65 Electra 225. That was a nice car too. We raced once, and we were dead even up to 90. Considering the Caddy was giving away 400 lbs. curb weight, I thought we did OK. Another friend got to drive Ford products his father brought home. I remember one big Merc. It had a 390 two-barrel. It didn't do corners nearly as well as our Caddy, it felt heavier, more sluggish, and more roll-y. Not as quick either. Our driver ed cars were Galaxies with 352s or 390s IIRC. Those didn't compare to our Caddy. But they shouldn't they were Fords. Not as quick feeling (our DE teacher wouldn't let us race them) and the Ford automatics of that era shifted in what I thought was a funny way. Not like my bud's deuce-and-a-quarter or our Caddy. Our mint green Caddy was a good long-distance traveler, those wide benches made for Big Sky country for three or four. The seats would give you aches after a while, though. You had to buy foreign in that era to get good seats. I was visiting a friend in the New England countryside. I met some of his friends. One was quite the hot-shot, though I forget what his wheels were. We agreed to race the 20-odd miles into town. He dismissed the deVille as if it were an old man with a cane and he was a long-distance runner. That Caddy would handle hilly curvy New England roads way better than any "car-savvy" youth would expect of such a tank. It certainly surprised his friend when we arrived minutes ahead of him. I heard lots of excuses. Yes, we cheated. LOL. And yes, I did survive my youth with the help of some innate driving skill, quick reflexes, and particularly by the Grace of God. So when you hear modern smarties disparaging the "barges" of yesteryear, remember, not everyone knows what they're talking about. Particularly if they didn't exist in that era, and didn't have the opportunity to wring out a highly-competitive--in all senses of the word--1962 Sedan deVille.

I love my car but come on!
I love my car but come on! How many people have I seen online with the exact problem OVERHEATING!! Did the makers do this on purpose? It seems to me they did! I was headed to work 25 miles away from home & yep over heated out of the blue. Replaced tensioner pulley belt and thermostat. Again! Replaced water pump still overheating! Then both front wheel bearings out at the same time replaced. Replaced over flow tanks cap. Throttle position sensor and vehicle speed sensor plus went through $300 worth of antifreeze no joke! Why are us cadillac owners having the exact same issue? That's not fair! I tell you people will do anything for money so sad! We should get some kind of repayment!

True classic, ID engine cast n avoid Y code blocks
Bought my 02 DeVille 3 months ago now, despite all my mechanic friends warning me to stay clear of northstar power plant due to their bad rep of blown head gaskets, eating oil, gasket leaks and just being generally hard to work on (ie. starter located under intake manifold) with complex electrical systems. I love the styling and with a perfect body, 9 code engine that was unbelievably healthy for 151k mi, I handed the previous owner the $1800 cash he was asking about 2 min after test ride I needed to check the vin. Awesome car

Stan is the MAN!
To begin this review, you should know that I rated the facilities a 4-star because, in this time of COVID, I was unable to enter the main building. The lot is cramped with gorgeous, fairly-priced vehicles, plus a small building in the center. There was no room for me to park my own vehicle when visiting, so I parked in the cul-de-sac. Now, about Stan. From the Ukraine, Stan is a compassionate, thoughtful salesman who spent our time together masked (because of COVID) and LISTENING to me as I fumbled with what I was looking for. He asked pertinent questions, took the time to understand what I was seeking, and was as transparent with me about the quality of the vehicle I had come to test-drive as is possible. I pointed out scratches. He admitted that they were problematic. I asked him about the timing belt: had it been changed? He didn't know, and didn't invent a story. He didn't say "yes" or "no," he said the most honest thing a car salesman can say: "I don't know. But I will find out for you." And, sure enough, he did! We talked about the timing belt replacement (which HAD happened, and this saves me $1,000 right off the bat). We talked about the provenance of the vehicle, a wreck it had been in eight years ago, how clean and immaculate the car was, both inside and out. I thought that the car was overpriced a bit, and I asked Stan what he thought. He agreed that it could be a bit lower, and on my first visit to the lot, he informed me that his boss had lowered the price of the car by $500. Which was music to my ears. I test drove the car. It handled beautifully. Ice-cold A/C, no pulling to the left or right. This car had been in a wreck before, but other than the CARFAX report mentioning it, I would never have known. Stan gave me the keys and said "Take this to your mechanic," so I did. I sat at my own personal mechanic's office and waited for an hour while they went through the car, front to back, paying close attention to the mechanical aspects of the vehicle. They found a leaking power steering rack and pump. That's IT. "Lou," said the owner of the shop. "This is the best vehicle you've brought us, and I am of the strong opinion you should BUY THIS CAR IMMEDIATELY." I wasn't sure, given the cost of replacing the power steering rack and pump. I went back to Stan. He wasn't sure, he said, but he'd check with the boss. I offered $500 less than the vehicle was priced at, even AFTER a $500 drop! Stan stood up for me with his boss, got the boss to agree, and sold me the car. In conclusion, I have a fantastic vehicle, low miles for its age, mechanically sound (except for the rack and pump, which I will get fixed on my own dime), and Stan has a customer for life in me. I've been in sales for forty years, and Stan did everything right. He shared what he could do, told me honestly what he couldn't do and, not once, not EVER, did he give me a hard-sell. He listened to me, he met my needs and then exceeded them. Kudos to Stan and to Denver Auto Company for the best car-buying experience I have ever had. Thank you.

The last of its kind
I bought a pearl white 1996 cadillac deville from an old man who really took care of it.it had 75000 original miles on it, i was the second owner of this vehicle.IT had awonderfil engine, the 4.6 liter dohc 32 valve northstar v8 which had a total output of about 300horsepower and was really reliable engine. The exterior is absolutley gorgeous with smooth body lines, with an aggressive yet suddle stance and it still has that classic cadillac look. The interior isa typical caddy 100% luxury. It is really loaded for 96 and has many luxurious accessories.ONce you sit in the seats you just sink into them, they are so plush and well padded. The ride quality is hands down the best.No noise transfers into the cabin wich makes the ride even better. It can make the worst pothole feel like a cloud. The ride is smooth, quiet, comfortable and luxuries. This vehicle is the last of its kind. Now cadillac is trying to make sporty coupes and stylish sedans if you ask me they should of kept making them like they use to.The caddy has 91xxx miles now, garage kept and only used on special occasions. The 1996 cadillac devill is the last of its kind.
