Car repair and poor customer service
December 3, 2018
The repair on my headlight was done efficiently. That is not the issue. The issue is what I was told afterward. I had asked the service person, Steven Mackin when my last oil change was. He told me it was last year and over 10,000 miles ago. I found that hard to believe because I had looked at the sticker on my window prior to making the appointment and I had a 1,000 miles to go. Yes, it was over 6 months, but being retired and not driving a lot, I chose to wait for the 5,000 check up. As you can see by my files, I have been a very loyal customer for the past 12 years. I try to only deal with Wade but a couple other of the guys that have been there a long time have been great also. Steven is the one that left me waiting for hours last November when I had my car in for service. Wade had gone to lunch and Steven was suppose to take care of me. Another guy came after he saw that I had been there almost the entire day and spending almost $600.00. I am not trying to get anyone in trouble but this is the second time that there has been an issue with this young man. I come to Gates for several reasons. One, I have always felt that I was treated fairly and like family. Second, it is close to home for me. Third, I had planned on getting my next car at Gates. Fourth, my son went to high school with Joel Gates and I want to give my money and business to someone that my son knows and knows how to treat people and be treated fairly. I know that we are all trying to do our best and to make a living. Thank you for listening.
