Buying a car is never easy, especially not three states over, and there is a CoViD-19 virus creating barriers at every possible moment. But the car I fell in love with was at Imperial Motors in Lake Bluff IL, one of three made in that specific color combination for the year. I tried to negotiate my way to a deal, but Steve was a straight shooter and fair to Kelley Blue Book, so we struck a deal. I later found out that they underpriced the car I bought, so I made out like a bandit on the sale anyway. Nevertheless, sometimes, when workers are not operating their computers and phone lines as usual, buying a car across state lines is not as easy as one would hope. Luckily, Steve was with me every bit of the way, for instance, where the registration process typically would fall into place, CoViD-19 stopped regular operations, and my registration would be delayed by months if it wasn't for Steve's help. Steve also got me window tinting at cost before shipping the car as a part of his customer service experience. Subsequently, he made sure I received prompt and discounted shipping of both the trade-in car and the purchased car with a driver's contact phone number. I received the title and a check to pay the taxes due on the vehicle at the DMV since Steve advised this to be the fastest route to register the car. At the DMV, I found that Imperial Motors overcharged sales tax for the vehicle. When I notified Steve of the mishap, and that the DMV is sending the dealership the overage check instead of me, Steve promptly sent a check of the overage to me via UPS. Buying a car online from a dealership out of state made me weary, but Steve is a person I could count on by being there for me, on his official and personal time. That is how a Jaguar dealership takes care of a customer by becoming a part of their experience, and I feel like Steve, and I are good friends, although we never met.

I literally have purchased hundreds of cars in my life and today I still buy from them from a thousand miles away and have them ship me the car. I am always pleasantly surprised when it arrives because they under promise and over deliver every single time!

This car meets or exceeds my needs and expectations. Fuel efficiency for this type and size of car is very good as I frequently enjoy 30+ mpg on the highway. Everything else is excellent. Areas to improve are tires. I would like the option of taller tires to avoid pothole blowouts. The 45s are a really bad tire for any city driving, or pothole season in the northeast. Taller tires would be really nice. It would be nice if there were fewer leaf traps. Leaves and leaf litter accumulate around the trunk opening as well as at the rear of the hood at the base of the windshield. They hold moisture which could lead to early rust or corrosion if not cleaned frequently. And how about better protection for soft targets - more secure protection against mice, squirrels, etc.? Tuck those wires away, or use more robust insulators and conduits. A recent wire bite cost a thousand dollars. Not brand-specific, but hey there Mr. design engineer, how about some thought of real-world use?

I had a great experience with my Land Rover at Field's. The team in Northfield including Luke Brinckerhoff ( service) and Kevin (the master mechanic) are simply the dynamic duo! Answers to questions provided most plI yees might glorify or beat around the bush. Not with Luke and Kevin honest answers and terrific 5 star work! I would highly recommend Field's Northfield with these individuals heading up any service work requirements! I drive past another dealership every time I come to Northfield for service. However the service is done properly!

I loved the automatic speed zone sign that pops up to remind you you are going to fast. It really is great. Easy heads up display could see it even while driving into the sun

Beautiful car and a blast to drive. It’s super quick off the line. The handling is not as good as I would like. It would not be hard to loose control at high speeds. I had a major electrical problem at less than 35K miles where the passenger side lost power, all the parking sensors stopped working, and the passenger side airbags had an issue. It ended up being all related and was fixed under Waranty while the dealership have me a brand new Land Rover to cruise around in. Other than that I’ve had zero issues with the car. It’s 5 years old with 38K miles on it so it has been gently used. Despite the gentle use the driver seat is showing ware and I have ceramic tint on the car to protect that interior. All the other seats are perfect. They could used better quality leather. Other than that the interior is perfect still. At 6’ tall and 325 pounds the car is still plenty comfortable to drive. He backseats are relatively spacious for a mid sized sports sedan as well. Over all it’s been a good car.

John understood my needs and responded quickly with Jeeps to review - after a bit of humming and hawing on my part, I changed my mind to trucks. I found a truck at another facility, John had it tranferred and within 2 days my soon to be truck arrived - and it is a beauty. John was training Matt and they both demonstrated immense knowledge throughout the interaction and I appreciated the ease of communication (not pushy). I cannot comment on the financing portion of the transaction, but closing went just as smoothly with Hubert and his supervisor. WHile impressed with my transaction I was also impressed with the amount of time that was placed on the training of new employees, or employees transferring. While yes my truck need a repair on the fog lights, it is covered under their warranty, I am highly impressed with my experience. From walking in the front door, to having John take my picture of me and my truck with a giant yellow ribbon... every individual at Carmax truly made the buying and trading experience a wonderful experience. We bought the Jag as our family car, and ours is the XF S Sport Brake - basically a fast wagon. Unlike the German and American hot wagons I've driven (Mercedes AMG, Cadillac CTS-V), the Jaguar is actually comfortable and smooth (grace). Yet handling is excellent, power is more than enough (pace), so unsuspecting WRXs are easy targets. It also carries my family and my dog, and all our things with room to spare (space). The perfect family car for James Bond.

Compared to rival cars like the Mercedes E-Class, this car is equipped incredibly well. In fact I’d say, I have every option I was looking for and more (all except adaptive cruise, the option is available, just not on the one I bought), as well the car looks incredible, I’d say rivals the looks of the S-Class, but unfortunately where it falls short is the interior design. It just doesn’t feel very elegant inside, but the prestige package is a must have. It adds the premium leather interior which makes up for where the rest of the interior falls short. Then the performance (35t model) is exactly as much as you need. Put in sport and dynamo mode, it will take off, push you back in the seat, but set it to Eco and it’ll be soft and steady. The best of both worlds.
