When I visited the dealership, I had planned on only test driving a vehicle. I ended up driving away with a "new" used car. The experience was so pleasurable that buying the car was an easy decision.
While one may characterize this as a "corner lot" dealership, it actually has two garages and multiple locations. That's how they are able to offer a cover-everything warranty for a few months and even offer free oil changes for a year.
For me, the attention to detail was wonderful. To begin with, the test drive was on a set route that allowed you to get a good feel of the car without having to jump onto a major highway. In my case, the representative was friendly, informative and in no way pushy.
When I made the decision to buy the car. their finance guy was able to get me a fantastic interest rate, even better than what my own bank was willing to offer me. As I was filling out the paperwork, they were cleaning the car again, adding all the nice final touches. I was impressed by this because they really didn't have to do that since they knew I was buying the car. Again, attention to detail pays off.
On a final note, the purchase of my car came with an autographed copy of a book written by the dealership's owner. Now THAT is attention to detail. I had a great buying experience, was given a great interest rate and drove away feeling special in owning an autographed copy of a hard cover book. Even better, I have a year of free oil changes on the way.
