We had a great experience with this dealer; this is following poor experiences at others. The staff was highly knowledgeable with the vehicles and never got pushy. Joe, specifically, was the best salesperson I have ever worked with. Would recommend this dealer to anyone!
Purchased a Grand Cherokee Summit last year and wintered in Arizona for the last 10 years. Staying in New York this year and really wanted snow tires installed before any inclement weather. The Friendly staff had them ordered and installed the next day!
Got to Work with Dave on the purchase of a new/used vehicle. I saw the vehicle on the internet and called them before making the trip which was almost a 2 hour trip, The lady who answered the phone ( I believe she said her name was Nicole) was very pleasant and transferred my call to Dave. Dave said they did still have the vehicle and when we arrived he had it sitting down at their office. After showing me the vehicle and were there was a rust spot on the rear quarter panel which he said they would fix he gave me the keys and left us take it for a test drive.
When we got back we told him that we were interested in the vehicle. While doing the paper work we asked him he could do the paper work and if everything was good we would come back the next day to finish it up because we had another appt at noon. To my surprise Dave says well the vehicle is yours because i guarantee everything is going to be fine so why don't i put a dealer plate on it and let you guys drive it home today then you can come back in the morning to finish the paper work. Being we live two hours from the dealership this was a complete surprise.
We took him up on his offer which saved us from driving two vehicles once again, The next day all the paper work was ready for us when we arrived and it only required signatures, Dave then gave me a paper which i never saw at any other dealers, This paper was called We Owe You. On this paper he wrote that they owed us Pa inspection and emissions along with have the rust spot fixed. The service that Ron's gave was superior and I couldn't have been treated any better. There was no pressure like you get at other dealers.

Our high regard for VSA is validated by subsequent accounts that share a few highlights of our "VSA" buying experience.
Prior to officially visiting Virginia Select Auto (VSA) we had searched the Internet for well-optioned, low-mileage 2016 Ford Explorers & test driven examples at competing vendors. We had also made two (2) "Sunday, off-hour" visits to VSA for cursory inspections of candidate vehicles. These experiences, coupled with prior online research, acquainted us with the fair market value of our "Trade-In" and the vehicle we sought.
Upon our arrival, Customer Service Representative, Damian Garrett came from the sales studio to promptly & courteously greet us (attentiveness even before we could finish exiting our vehicle)!! His comprehensive knowledge/explanation of the features/options of the subject vehicle were extremely refreshing & helpful. Our "test drive" was not restricted to a limited-distance, "cold engine", slow-speed, punctuated "ride around the block". Instead, we were encouraged to thoroughly evaluate the vehicle's performance under operating scenarios we felt were important. All of our questions & concerns were acknowledged and appropriate follow-up with other VSA team members was made as soon as we returned to the showroom. After: 1) An explanation of procedures & policies VSA employs regarding selection & purchase of one of their vehicles; 2) An introduction to available extended warranty programs; and; 3) Completion of customer identification paperwork, we were introduced to Jerry Williams (Sales Manager), who handled presentation of the purchase proposal & negotiation of the final vehicle purchase agreement.
Jerry Williams also greeted us with respect & courtesy throughout the negotiating process which was cut to the chase immediately after our initial counter proposal (no long, arduous, anger-provoking, back & forth negotiating iterations here!!). He thoroughly explained the basis for VSA's initial sales agreement proposal, identified what was acceptable in our opinion, and successfully worked with his upper management to make possible acquisition of the vehicle under terms we felt were fair & amenable to both parties. It was great to reach a final agreement without VSA going through annoying, intermediate attempts at making an agreement that we were not going to feel comfortable with!!! after amenable sales terms were reached, Jerry introduced us to Blake Howery (Finance Director).
Blake tailored our extended warranty program review to options we had previously expressed interest in and didn't waste our time going through undesired alternatives. His explanations and answers to our questions clarified our understanding of the warranty offers at issue and aided our decision -making process. Subsequently, the purpose of each sale-related paperwork element was thoroughly explained before it was presented to us for signature. Adequate opportunity for questioning was afforded throughout the process.
Finally, while Damian was installing our license plates & helping us transfer personal belongings to our newly-purchased vehicle, another VSA staff member (with whom we had no direct contact on the showroom floor) also congratulated us on our purchase!! David & Cindy B

I recently purchased a Ram 1500. My sales representative was respectful, friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to get a deal, without the heavy sales pressure and got a good vibe from the entire staff. I felt very comfortable in this Dealership. I purchased a used Jeep from another dealership that had assured me my Jeep was manufacturer certified. 5 month’s later, I had a wiring issue. As the original dealership is at least an hour away, I contacted Classic, scheduled an appointment, and brought my Jeep in. Much to my dismay, the original dealership had mislead me, and I found out that I did NOT have the bumper to bumper warranty I thought I had. I was VERY frustrated. That is when Classic came through.
They covered all of the parts for my repair and paid for my rental, charging me only for the labor. And when I picked up my Jeep it had been washed and vacuumed. ¿
I will never go to another Jeep dealership in the area. Classic, you have a loyal customer!

I've owned cars since the 70's. I've toured VW, Honda, Chevy, Nissan, Ford, Carmax and Toyota Dealerships, been to car shows, used car lots, junk yards - have kept a Chevy S-10 alive for 22 years - rented cars for the last 9 years of its life and in 2013 hunted for a used car. In short, I've been around and know what I like. I've had good and bad experiences.
My visit to Checker Flag Toyota dealership was by far the best experience to date. Carmax was the lowest key, low stress, but not as friendly. Jaclyn has been my next door neighbor since last year. This was my first professional interaction with her and she was super. Easy to make an appointment, flexible when I arrived late, I was asked by almost all the staff that saw me waiting if I needed assistance.
I got a full tour of all the options - new and certified pre-owned - sales and lease options. We drove a certified pre-owned Highlander XLE, 2015 model with lots of extras, some regrettably unique to that model year. I learned all about what made that SUV special, what makes Toyota great, what makes Checkerflag Toyota best of all. I gained a new respect for my neighbor too.
The only things that kept me from buying the car right then were my personal circumstances and the ridiculously low value of my Chevy Colorado - I've lot $10k in 4 years after I bought it used. (lesson here - buy a Toyota if you want a car to hold value - painful lesson learned).
I know my next car with be a Toyota and my only dealership will be Checker Flag in Norfolk. How's that for a productive day? Thanks Jaclyn for giving me a great introduction!!!
I stopped by for an unscheduled service on my Ford F-150. I know it isn't a Ford store, but it was the closest place to me. I pulled in to the service department and was immediately greeted by the newest member of their team Rene Orantes. He took my keys and assured me I was in good hands. He was right. He had my truck serviced and done while I watched T.V. and finished up on work. I would highly recommend Rene and Autonation Dodge to anyone needing service.
We are snowbirds from Virginia and took our Ford Expedition into Ford AutoNation in Sanford for a oil change and tire rotation. They did an excellent job and even washed our SUV for free. We did have to wait for a little time and I asked how much longer it would take to get our Expedition back and was told 10 min because they were washing our SUV. When they finished we were told there was no charge for the oil change and tire rotation and when we asked why there was no charge we were told it was because we had to wait too long. I have never had that happen, ever!! Usually there is an apology for the wait and here is your bill. We had big screen tv to watch, free coffee and snacks so we did not mind the wait. This was totally unexpected!! Great customer service and friendly staff. I highly recommend this dealership!!! They care about their customers!!
