While in the market for a weekend sports car I came across an F-Type at SA Auto Credit. I visited the dealership early one morning prior to heading to my office, and even though they were not open yet, one of the employees came out to let me know he would be happy to assist if I had any questions. Further, SA Auto Credit was completely open to my mobile mechanic coming out to perform a thorough pre-purchase inspection (PPI), and the PPI found the vehicle to have no serious issues. To that point, I have now owned the vehicle for two months and it has performed flawlessly over that time. Regarding pricing, the guys at SA Auto Credit were very reasonable and the deal we finalized was extremely fair to me as the buyer. Though I also considered a 650i convertible at BMW of San Antonio, that dealership was surprisingly unwilling to work with Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) unless it was a Cashier's Check. Personally, I would not recommend BMW of San Antonio to NFCU members, but SA Auto Credit was just the opposite - they have great experience with NFCU, and the NFCU-issued pre-approval check was absolutely an accepted form of payment (as it has been at every dealer I have purchased from in the past). As a car guy, I've been blessed to own many vehicles over the years, and I've worked with dealerships across the country. I am happy to report that SA Auto Credit is one of the best buying experiences I have had. Further, they are the best buying experience I've had in San Antonio (even compared to the some of the largest luxury brand dealers in the city). Please note, SA Auto Credit sells, from my experience, quality used cars at fair market prices. Yes, there may be small imperfections, but I found the small cosmetic issues with the F-Type were solved in my garage with a relaxing afternoon of detailing the following weekend. All in all, I give SA Auto Credit a 5-star rating and would recommend them if you are in the market for a nice pre-owned vehicle. If a buyer has a PPI performed, and is reasonable in their expectations, I believe that buyer may also have a 5-star experience. Best wishes in your automotive search!

I'm still a little torn with this car. Great to drive and love the physical package, but I worry about the long-term wisdom of having bought the hybrid technology. Will it hold up? Will it prove reliable? But I got it used (certified preowned or CPO) with only 6,600 miles at a great price, so... time will tell. Also a bit nervous that the hybrid Touareg is not equipped with run-flat tires, nor does it have a spare. The hybrid battery resides where the spare would normally be. You get a can of "goo" tire repair. Keep AAA handy! Understand the positioning of this vehicle - it has the performance of a V8 with V6 fuel economy. Do not buy it and expect to get 35 mpg! The 8-speed transmission is very smooth. I really like the dashboard and associated electronics - nav/radio/climate/telephone, etc. A very sharp, well-designed integrated system that is shared with some Bentleys! (Another VW brand). I also really like the heated steering wheel - doesn't get too warm, like my previous BMW. The seats are very comfortable - really like the driving position. Fully adjustable, even movable lumbar. After a couple weeks of ownership, with mostly city driving, I'm getting about 20 mpg, with EPA being 20/24, so pretty accurate. And not bad for a vehicle that has 380 horsepower and weights over 5,000 lbs. I gave the car a minor ding for reliability, mostly out of fear more than anything else. Wait and see!
