Our real world mpg is little higher than expected, coming in at 36 combined so far with it being driven 4k miles. The ONLY downside was our after sales service. Drove us insane trying to get the simplest request. Piece of window trim was missing when we took delivery, they had the car for 2+ months to "repair/replace" this ! During that time, it was probably promised "next Friday" , nearly every Fri., and always I always had to be the one to call to try and get update, if you could even talk to a live person, it would be always be * let me check and I'll call you back* and days would go by forcing you to call again. I can't say this about other Hyundai dealerships, but McDonough Hyundai in Georgia has the absolute, positively, worst customer service . Just trip 10,000 miles. Trouble free so far. Gets 34mpg consistently and seats 7. Got it for under 40k. Very comfortable. I think it's one of the most practical vehicles on the road. Only complaint is the windshield wipers only has 3 settings.

I bought a Santa Fe Limited Hybrid last month. I drove the vehicle home, and it started to shake quite badly. I thought it was just tires out of balance so scheduled an appointment with the dealership service department. They told me the tires needed to be balanced and that it was smooth as glass now. Drove it home and it was anything but smooth. I took it to another dealership where they have had it for almost two weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with it. They think they have it narrowed down now. Time will tell. To say this has been extremely disappointing would be an understatement. When you purchase a new vehicle, it's supposed to be free from defect and operate as advertised. Not this one. Do yourself a favor and skip the Santa Fe and either pick the Tucson or the Palisade. Perform an internet search for Santa Fe transmission failures and prepare to be amazed at the number of failures being reported.
