Bought a 2016 CPO with about 65k miles.
Bought a 2016 CPO with about 65k miles. (Never had to use the warranty). 1.8 L turbo engine has surprising low end torque and lots of highway passing HP. GREAT MPG! Lots of leg room for all passengers. A really great road trip car. Lost it in a crash @ 110k :(

About as reliable as the Sun.
My 2016 Passat SE was purchased new and has not let us down. Our only expenses have been oil changes, replacing a battery and a set of tires due to age. Very good value & driver, a shame VW stopped its production.

Great car that died way to soon - beware of dealer
I purchased a new 2016 VW Passat in 12/2017. I have maintained this car meticulously, every oil change on time, every recommended maintenance as it was due mileage wise. For 9 months, I took my car to the dealer as the "EPC" light was coming on, and my oil light was on, despite just being serviced. I was told to have all the spark plugs changed, which I did. One month later I was at the dealer for the same issues. Dealer could never "duplicate" the EPC code, and for the oil?, told me it's normal for VW's to "use a little", "just add as necessary". For 9 months, this went back and forth. At 140K miles, my beloved VW Passat left me stranded on the side of the road, 90 miles from home. I called the dealer to tell them I was having the car towed to them. Service told me they were so backed up, it would be at least 2 weeks before they could even look at the car. I had the car towed to Eurofix. After diagnostics and a camera scope inside the engine, Eurofix was dumbfounded the dealer had allowed these issues to go so long. Basically, my engine was blown and the communication control center was dead. A car that should have run 250k+ miles was dead at 140k despite maintenance. I loved this car, it got great gas mileage, but NEVER deal with #VolkswagonOfMurfreesboro (TN). When I purchased the car, the sales/finance department were screwy - I had to sign papers 3 times before everything was completed correctly. The worst part was the service department. Constant staff turn over, low staffing so service needs cannot be timely met, being promised loaner cars only to arrive and that not be the case.
