This 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula features its original, numbers-matching drivetrain, including the 400 cubic inch V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor paired to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. Long tube headers and a dual exhaust system enhance the performance sound without straying from its classic Pontiac muscle character.
In 2019, the car underwent a thorough mechanical restoration, and receipts are included. The engine was disassembled, cleaned, painted, and fitted with new seals, gaskets, freeze plugs, and fluids. The transmission and driveshaft were also removed, resealed, and reinstalled. Key components like the fuel pump, water pump, thermostat, and belts were replaced. A full ignition refresh included new plugs, wires, and distributor components. Suspension and braking systems were addressed with new shocks, bushings, and pads, and the front disc brakes and rear drum setup were serviced for reliable stopping power.
The engine bay was refinished, and various systems including the carburetor, cooling, and fuel delivery were rebuilt or replaced. This work makes the Formula mechanically sound while preserving its originality, with the numbers-matching drivetrain still in place.
