Great Choice
Comfortable car!! I purchased my 2016 MKX used and have been very satisfied with my purchase. I have not experienced any mechanical problems with the exception of a $60 vacuum line. The problematic issues that others have mentioned with the Ecoboost, I have not experienced. I change my oil every 4K miles. I’d heard that doing that instead of per Ford’s recommendation can help prevent turbo failures. My MKX has the optional 2.7 Litre engine. Very responsive!! Interior is very comfortable and the car overall is enjoyable to drive. Mileage currently 114,690

Grammy’s cute car.
Love my MKX. My car was in the shop, they gave me an Edge to drive. No comparison. Couldn’t wait to get my car back. Many features others don’t have.

2016 Lincoln MKX Catalytic Converter Issues
Until recently, we have liked out 2016 Lincoln MKX and has been a reliable vehicle. Unfortunately in the past month, we have had to replace both catalytic converters at over $2,000 each. This is my wife’s vehicle and she really enjoyed the remote start feature that came with the Lincoln Way app. In early 2022, Lincoln was requiring a $900 modem upgrade to continue using the app. She decided not to upgrade the modem as long as she could still use the remote start using her FOB which worked fine until the defective catalytic converters started causing the Check Engine light to come on and prevented the ability to remote start the vehicle. The ability to start her vehicle remotely on cold Michigan days is something she really liked. We’ve owned 4 Lincolns in the past 10 years and we have been planning to purchase 2 more in the next few years but this experience may influence us to look at other luxury brands. We’re working with Morrie’s Grand Ledge Lincoln to see if Lincoln will at least give a discount on a modem upgrade given we’ve just spent over $4,000 on replacing two defective catalytic converters.
