The GX 460 is a reliable enigma.
You can’t question Lexus’ reliability. The GX 460 is one of the most reliable vehicles on the planet They have been producing the same model since 2010. It should be reliable. But it is also very dated. They should have introduced a revised and newer model halfway into its 14 year run. The gas mileage is bad (19 hwy & 15 city). The 6 speed transmission and V8 are probably to blame. The transmission may be durable for off roading, but I wouldn’t mind having a 10 speed transmission. Also, the transmission shift too quickly from first to second gear, making the 5300lb GX feel lethargic. It is probably an attempt to save gas. I wish there was a sport mode for the transmission. So, the GX would feel sporty and athletic. That one of the reasons I wanted a V8. I wish it had blue tooth compatible Apple Car Play and a wireless phone charger. I also wish it had dual exhaust for its V8.

Rock Solid
I love the truck capability combined with first class comfort. My GX has everything I need, and nothing I don’t. Long term value, combined with old school charm is hard to beat. Where else can you find a school bus mirror combined with sun glass holder? My third Lexus and will not be my last.
