I purchased a 2009 QX56 FWD in early 2017, it had 170K Kilometers on it. Since then I have put another 100,000 Kilometers on it. I don't write reviews until I have had years of experience with a vehicle. This qx56 has been amazing for me for traveling from Vancouver Canada to Middle of California, and local driving. Pulling a trailer. The gas millage sucks, but everything else has been a win win situation for me. Drive in luxury with lots of bells & whistles for the year. I love big, high SUV's. Being seated high up gives me great views over cars. Driving 1500 Kilometers continuesly is easy in this comfortable suv. Love it, highly recommended it. So far it has been very reliable. Now it has 279,000 Kilometers on it. That translates to about 173K miles.

Good truck after some modifications
I bought our 2008 QX56 new back in July, 2007, so we're coming up on 16 years and 75k miles. Reason for the purchase was to carry kids, tow a boat and tow an enclosed motorcycle trailer. It does those things well. At less than 10k miles I replaced the front struts with Bilstein B6's. This cleaned up the horrendous ride over bumps that would shake the wheel out of your hands. I believe the Nissan engineers did a poor job of suspension tuning on this truck. At 68k miles, replaced the front struts again, and put Arnott air shocks on the back to replace the originals. Replaced all of the rear suspension and much of the front due to excessive rust that destroyed the fasteners and made it impossible to do an alignment. Now this QX drives and rides better than new. Also replaced the rubber brake lines with steel. Used StopTech in the rear and customized steel lines up front. Major improvement in the brake pedal feel. The heaviest trailer I have pulled with this was about 5500 pounds. I know it is rated for 8900, but 6k pounds would be my limit. Tough to keep speed up some of the Virginia mountains while towing 5500 pounds, but otherwise this is an excellent tow vehicle.
