Hi, I'm Mike Hanley with Cars.com. And this is a Dodge Caliber SRT4. It's the latest model from Chrysler Street and Racing Technology group. And today I'm going to show you the numerous differences that set it apart from a regular Caliber.
The SRT4 has an all-new look up front that sets it apart from the regular Caliber. It has this big hood scoop here, and also has some hood extractors to remove hot air from the engine bay. And you can see it has a all new face with this big grill, and there's actually some ducts to feed cold air to the brakes to help keep them cool. There are also a number of styling changes at the rear of the car. You can see there's this large rear spoiler. And down closer to the ground, there's a large diffuser, helps manage air, Dodge says, under the car. And you can see also this giant four-inch tailpipe. The SRT group has also worked on the suspension of the Caliber SRT4. The ride height's lowered in the front and the back. And they've- there also these 19 inch alloy wheels. And you can see through the wheels' spokes that there are these red brake calibers that the car has too. SRT cars are also known for their engines. And the one in the caliber SRT4 is no exception. It's a turbo 2.4 liter four cylinder that makes 285 horsepower and 265 pounds feet of torque. And that's good for a zero to 60 time in the low six second range, according to Dodge. There's some differences, too. The biggest ones being these bolstered front sports seats that enthusiast drivers are sure to appreciate. They have an SRT logo on the back of 'em, and you can see there's this contrasting red stitching down the sides. There was also some changes to the instrument cluster. Instead of a center speedometer like the regular Caliber, there's a center techometer, and that techometer has SRT logos, as well. And on the left-hand side, there's a turbo boost meter that shows you what the boost pressure is. The SRT4 starts at about $23,000. So that's a big step up from the base Caliber's price, but the SRT group has turned the car into a sport compact that hardly resembles its mainstream sibling in both performance and looks.
