Pickuptrucks.com's Joe Bruzek heads to the 2012 SEMA show to see what trucks Ford and RAM have to offer.
[Crashing Sound] Hi ,this is Joe Bruzek with pickuptrucks.com. We're here at SEMA 2012. And while SEMA is very much an aftermarket experience, the OEMs have a presence here as well. Ford always brings great trucks to SEMA.
And this year there's three trucks on display. One up in the clouds and two in the weeds. Now Ford gave dozens of trucks to aftermarket companies, and what they brought back were the best three. And those are on display. This truck and F-150 is lowered four inches in the front and six inches in the back. There's these 22 inch wheels and 15 inch bare brakes behind them. Now under the hood is an Eco Boost engine, but that has been tweaked considerably with new turbos, new turbo headers, custom tuning, and all new inner cooling piping. The cadence customs F-150 is a similar idea of sport truck, but takes a different approach. There's 24 inch wheels on this one. There's also big breaks, but what's really different is under the hood. There's a 5.0 V8. That's supercharged with the pro charger system. And MagnaFlow exhaust. Now, which one would win between these two? We're not sure, but it would be one hell of a race. This F-250 diesel was built Kelderman Air Suspension systems And it's jacked up with an air suspension system that's electronically controlled through a touch pad inside of the car. Now, the great attention to detail on this is underneath where everything is powder-coated and Chromed. At the Ram booth in Vegas, there's an Urban Ram, which is built with Mopar accessories. There's a Mopar Handling kit and these 22 inch RT wheels. What's most important about this Urban Ram though, is under the hood. We would want to see the new Viper engine stuffed into this Ram. All wishing aside, if you like what you see here, you can build it. Mopar provides a recipe with part numbers and everything to build this exact truck. [Happy Acoustic Guitar Music] [Rock Music Plays] Thanks for sticking around. Mopar brought this special little red express truck, now, this is a commemorative edition. The original truck that was made in late seventies, Now, it has very much a lot of same staples as that truck like this wood bed, the dual stack exhaust out of the bed, which is functional, and also the memorable logo. What's really cool about this truck is under the hood. The 5.7 liter gas engine is turbocharged, and is turbocharged with a bank turbo charging system. Now, we don't know too much about this truck. It's a one-off show truck, and horsepower, we don't really know much about, but it's a nice little surprise that we found here at the show. Join us next year back at SEMA.
