(car engine starts) Maserati has its first SUV in the all-new Levante, a luxury model that takes on the likes of the Porsche Cayenne, the BMW X5, and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
Maserati differentiated the Levante from its other vehicles to interesting effect here. Almost an angry expression here. Very severe. See what you think. Now Maserati is one of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' brands. And so you do get a few parts bin pieces here, things like the windows switches, a few more areas around some of the controls, but overall, a very premium interior, lots of real leather around you, including on the dashboard, Maserati says. A very nice premium appeal here, and not too much lost utility, either. You get into SUVs like that Porsche Cayenne, there's really not a whole lot of storage space. It's nice to see that sort of the Levante continues to have the utility you'd expect in an SUV. Now this here, this is the Zenya edition of the car, Maserati says. Actually after Italian suit maker, Zenya. You get things like suit materials, the same thing that it would use for its coats, on the seats, headliner, even in the doors. The backseat has a strange cushion angle going on here with this big outcropping at the bottom here. It kind of bites right into your tailbone. Apart from that, though, nice high seating position, lots of legroom left over for where I would sit to drive, and nice to see a couple of USB charging ports back here for the kids. A turbo V6 makes as much as 424 horsepower. Good for zero to 60 in five seconds. Now, pricing starts around $72,000, but you can bet with options, this will go into the six figure territory. Expect more closer to the Levante's on sale date, this September. (car trunk slams)
