Alfa Romeo is aiming to shake up the compact SUV segment with the all-new 2024 Tonale, the first Alfa Romeo to come electrified. The Italian brand has confirmed that customers may begin ordering the plug-in hybrid, which has a starting price of $44,590 (all pricing includes a $1,595 destination charge).
The 2024 Tonale’s exterior styling adopts some of the brand’s core design cues, including the trademark triangular-shaped front grille and the flowing side profile that leads into the rear end and taillights. Inside, the Tonale is a mixture of sport and luxury, with bold lines and an impressive amount of technology including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with built-in wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability.
Performance for the 2024 Tonale is provided by a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder that’s paired with a 90-kilowatt electric motor and a 15.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack good for 285 hp and more than 30 miles of all-electric range, according to the automaker. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is all-wheel drive.
Pricing and Release Date
The 2024 Tonale will make its way to dealerships later this year. In the meantime, the brand has opened up orders for the Ti and Veloce trims; the Sprint version will be available for order later in spring 2023. Full pricing is below:
