In terms of attainability, Ferrari is fugazi … but a Vette you could get. For most Americans, the iconic Italian exotic brand may as well be a wild concept car at an auto show with no designs on real-world production, and a fraction of Ferrari models are sold in the U.S. versus GM’s venerable American supercar. It’s understandable since the Chevrolet Corvette costs roughly half of a comparable Ferrari — “comparable” specifically when referring to the 2024 Corvette Z06, of which a comprehensive critique by Cars.com reviewer Conner Golden accelerates economically into the top two among our most popular articles of the week.

Undeniable attributes of the new Z06 include the (literally) car-alarm-triggering roar from its 5.5-liter V-8 firing up; race-track-ready upgrades like wider, grippier tires, bigger brakes and head-turning presence courtesy of an expanded lateral footprint; blistering acceleration from its normally aspirated output of 650 horsepower and 650 pounds-feet of torque that’s comparably controllable versus its predecessor; estimated 2.6-second 0-60 mph sprint; quick-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission; and surprising livability in terms of civilian-roadway ride, cargo space and interior accommodations — oh, and at a starting price of $114,395, it’s a relative bargain to that far-fetched Ferrari for 200K-plus.

In other news, Cars.com’s 2024 Kia EV9 clocked over 5,000 miles on the odometer since we purchased the all-electric three-row SUV for our fleet of long-term test cars early in 2024. In that time, our editors have observed a problem with the digital gauge display intermittently blinking out on drivers; mixed results for family road trips, particularly with regard to accommodating larger broods on longer drives and finding charging stations along certain routes; and EV towing travails even with our upgraded 5,000-pound capacity.

But that’s not to suggest there haven’t been positives, too — particularly with regard to charging and efficiency — and you can get an up-to-date accounting of our “fuel” costs by reading our 2024 Kia EV9 update, which plugs in at No. 7 this week.

Beyond all that, we’ve got headlines on the Scout Traveler SUV and Terra pickup truck, Tesla Model Y and Model 3, Genesis GV80 and much more — so don’t stop reading till the digits double. Here are the top 10 news stories Cars.com readers couldn’t get enough of in the past week:
