Nissan just announced revisions to its supercar for 2015, but that news is dull compared to the newest addition to the GT-R lineup. Nissan says “records fall and dreams come true” with the 2015 GT-R NISMO, which was revealed ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. We’ll also get a closer look at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The two-plus-two coupe uses a tweaked version of the regular car’s twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6; it makes 600 horsepower in the NISMO version, up 55 hp from the regular model. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn claims it’s the fastest Nissan GT-R ever. The NISMO version also gets an upgraded suspension with stiffer springs and dampers.
Outside, amped-up styling sets it apart, with a NISMO aero package that Nissan says improves road holding and minimizes drag. The unique bumpers and side skirts, along with a large new spoiler, give it a more muscular look.
The 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO will go on sale in Japan in February 2014 and in the U.S. and Europe later in 2014. Check out the gallery below.
