Powertrain Specs and MPG
The 2025 CLA lineup has a range of powertrains. The CLA250 and CLA250 4Matic variants both feature a mild-hybrid turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 221 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque; it drives power to either the front or all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The CLA250 reaches 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds and has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 26/36/30 mpg city/highway/combined, while the 4Matic version comes in at 25/34/29 mpg.
The AMG versions up the performance, starting with the AMG CLA35, which offers a 302-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine; it achieves 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds and is rated at 22/29/25 mpg. For maximum performance, the AMG CLA45 S’s handcrafted 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 416 hp, taking it from 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds; its fuel economy is rated at 20/28/23 mpg. Both AMGs are AWD only.
Technology and Safety
The CLA comes standard with tech and safety features like blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED exterior lighting, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, and the MBUX infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; optional upgrades include a Burmester sound system. The available Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, lane departure steering assist and blind spot intervention. The AMGs include features aimed at performance-focused drivers, such as AMG-specific drive modes, upgraded brakes and a sport-tuned suspension.
