All the Pickup Truck News: Nissan Titan Review, Jacked Jeep Gladiator, Tesla Truck and More
After revealing its redone 2020 Titan at the 2019 State Fair of Texas, Nissan finally gave us the chance to drive the updated pickup truck in Park City, Utah. The testing included very limited off-road and towing aspects and didn’t involve any payload testing, either, so while we can’t give the 2020 Titan our full stamp of approval just yet, Cars.com reviewer Aaron Bragman did come away from the experience impressed by what Nissan has done.

Bragman was especially fond of how the new powertrain improved the driving experience, finding that the new nine-speed automatic transmission provided smoother and more intelligent up- and downshifts compared with the previous seven-speed. The updated 5.6-liter V-8 now produces 400 horsepower and 413 pounds-feet of torque and, while some of that power was sapped by the altitude, Bragman didn’t find it to be too anemic at elevation.
The redone interior also received praise for its materials quality, particularly in the top-trim Platinum Reserve — it’s now on par with Ford’s luxury offerings, according to Bragman, though it still trails Ram (like every other pickup). The new standard 8-inch touchscreen and optional 9-inch offering also garnered praise for their looks and user-friendliness.
