Affected vehicles include model-year 2024 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrids. The issue involves the main floor wiring harness, which may become damaged due to friction with the passenger-side second-row bench-seat assembly. The damage to the harness may cause the airbags to deploy unintentionally or, in the event of a crash, not at all, increasing the risk of injury.
To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect and repair the wiring harness, as necessary, for free. Hyundai will notify owners Sept. 23, but those with further questions can call the automaker at 855-371-9460 (Hyundai’s number for this recall is 265), or visit NHTSA’s website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
