Larger, more powerful and now with available all-wheel drive, the new 2025 Nissan Kicks is a dramatic departure from its somewhat ungainly predecessor in nearly every regard — except one. Although the new Kicks’ base price rises just $490 from the 2024 model’s to $23,220 (including destination fee), the subcompact SUV is still among the cheapest new vehicles on sale today.

I’m a Real SUV

Powering the 2025 Nissan Kicks is a 141-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine good for 140 pounds-feet of torque. As before, a continuously variable automatic is the only available transmission. New for 2025 is available AWD; previously, the Kicks was only offered with front-wheel drive, but buyers now can send power to all four wheels for an additional $1,500 on the S and SR and $1,650 on the SV.

Official EPA-rated fuel-economy estimates are not yet available for the new Kicks, but given its higher weight and greater power, it’s unlikely to match the 2024 model’s figures of 31/36/33 mpg city/highway/combined.

Availability and Pricing

The all-new 2025 Nissan Kicks is on sale now. Full pricing (including $1,390 destination) is as follows:

  • S: $23,220
  • SV: $25,070
  • SR: $27,570

Safety Features and Trim Levels

The Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist systems is standard on every 2025 Kicks. It includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic emergency braking and automatic high beams. Adaptive cruise control and rear parking sensors are also standard.

Otherwise, the base Kicks S is pretty basic. It rides on 16-inch steel wheels and features LED exterior lighting. Inside, you’ll find cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, keyless start, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and four speakers.

The mid-level SV trim gets 17-inch steel wheels, as well as keyless entry, wireless smartphone charging and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with satellite radio and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It’s a big step up to the SR, but the range-topping trim gains a lot of extra equipment. Its safety suite adds lane departure steering assist, blind spot intervention, advanced forward collision warning that watches out for oncoming traffic during left turns, a 360-degree camera system, front parking sensors and traffic-sign recognition. The SR also features 17-inch aluminum wheels, upgraded LED headlights, synthetic leather upholstery with cloth inserts, ambient lighting, carbon-fiber trim on the instrument panel, automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and six speakers.
