For members of the richest 1% who think the S-Class isn’t exclusive enough, Mercedes-Benz is dropping the (cashmere) curtain on the flagship of the flagship: the 2020 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Sedan Night Edition, a limited-edition trim of the S650 that the automaker calls its most exclusive yet.

Exterior

Outside, the model is upgraded from the regular sedan with carbon-fiber trim, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, shadow smoked 20-inch Maybach forged wheels, Obsidian Black exterior paint and Night Edition badges.

Interior

Inside, there’s specific Nappa leather upholstery in Porcelain and Black, Night Edition leather floormats and trunk mat as well as extra badges. For those being driven rather than driving, there are two executive rear seats with a 43-degree recline angle and power calf rests as well as rear seat entertainment and additional ambient lighting.

Engine Specs and 0-60

The powertrain is borrowed from the “regular” S650. Under the hood is a handcrafted twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 engine good for 621 horsepower and 738 pounds of torque. It jets from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds.

It’ll be a fast ride and also a smooth one. The sedan comes with the Magic Body Control suspension system that uses a camera to automatically scan the road ahead and adjust for bumps and dips in the road.

Pricing

It’ll also be an expensive ride. The S650 Sedan Night Edition is on sale now starting at $243,945‬ including a destination charge — an extra $40,400‬ over the regular sedan.

And if that price still doesn’t make it exclusive enough to suit your taste, its availability — or lack thereof — should suffice. The model is limited to just 15 units and will only be available in the U.S.
