It’s the most wonderful time of the year … and by wonderful, we mean stressful, as people all over the country race to score radical discounts on everything from brainwave cat ears to cars. They might well do, too, given increased vehicle inventory and incentives (we can’t speak for the cat ears). J.D. Power’s latest automotive sales forecast says incentives are up 2.5 percentage points over the same period in 2023 at roughly 6.3% off MSRP. But which deals are best this holiday season? Read on for three vehicles where you can put the most money back in your pocket.

2024 Chrysler Pacifica

  • Factory discount: $3,500-$6,500
  • Approximate price after savings: $38,000-$56,500
  • Approximate factory savings: 7%-13%
  • Offer ends: Dec. 2

There isn’t much left in Chrysler’s lineup at the moment; the demise of the 300 sedan meant that its entire roster of vehicles was limited to the Pacifica nameplate for the 2024 model year and Pacifica-based minivans for 2025 with the reintroduction of the Voyager. The brand tweaked the Pacifica’s lineup for ‘25 by removing the Touring and Touring L trim levels, so the discounts we found in the regions we surveyed for those trims of $3,500 and $4,000, respectively, could merely be a starting point for your negotiations. In lieu of cash savings on those and the upper Limited and Pinnacle trims, shoppers can also find the option of 4.9% financing for 72 months across the board. All such offers expire Monday.

  • Factory discount: $2,750-$3,500

  • Approximate factory savings: 7%-8%
  • Offer ends: Dec. 2

A thorough, polarizing redesign for 2024 distinguished Hyundai’s mid-size SUV from its contemporaries — largely in a good way, as we found when we tested it. But if the redesign had you sitting on the fence, perhaps a chunk of change off the sticker price will get you to reconsider. Hyundai is offering savings of $2,750 on the SE, SEL and XRT trims and $3,500 on the higher Limited and Calligraphy trims. As for financing, a blanket offer of 0% for 48 months was most common in the regions we surveyed, though exceptions could be found for 1.99% for 72 months on certain trims. Like the Pacifica, all such offers run through Monday.

Editor’s Choice: 2024 Ram 1500

  • Factory discount: $6,212-$13,148

  • Approximate factory savings: 15%
  • Offer ends: Dec. 2

We’ve long lauded the current-generation Ram 1500 for everything from its simple Uconnect tech setup to its luxury appointments in the highest trims. Here’s another reason to laud the model-year ‘24 version in particular: The best deal we found both by percentage and by pure money savings runs across virtually every trim of the truck (excepting the high-performance TRX variant) and goes to the tune of 15% off — which, if you load up a Limited, spares you more than $13,000 off MSRP. Even on a bare-bones Tradesman, though, you’re still looking at some six grand saved. Alternatively, shoppers will find 0.9% financing for 72 months (again, excepting the TRX). Both offers run through Dec. 2.

How We Look for Deals

To help car shoppers find the best deals for Black Friday 2024, we lead with cash offers available to shoppers at large, not those that require financing with the automaker or having certain qualifications (e.g., military or college-graduate discounts, loyalty or conquest bonuses, etc.). In calculating the overall percentage discount and pricing after incentives, we focus on the vehicle’s price range from the cheapest incentives-eligible trim level with no factory options to the priciest eligible trim with all factory options. We include the destination charge in such pricing, but we exclude a few other items: taxes and fees, which vary considerably by region, and dealer accessories, which vary considerably by automaker.

Because these are factory discounts, they should be available to all participating dealers. As such, use them as the starting point for negotiations, not a reason to skip haggling altogether.

Incentives data come from automakers’ websites. Remember, our numbers are current as of publication for the markets we survey (generally Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles and New York). They reflect advertised customer discounts, not unadvertised factory-to-dealer cash. Discount financing typically requires qualifying credit, too, and incentives may vary by region and trim level; automakers may also change them later in the window of relevance. In sum: Your discounts may vary, so check with your local dealer for specifics.
