Used AutoLocators 4 times! Great service and Value

Let me just say that I have purchased 4 vehicles from Richard, as well as had him sell one of mine. He does a great job at finding the right vehicle we need, plus he and Amber go the extra mile! That's not seen very much in the auto industry. We are very happy and always recommend our friends to them. They don't over charge, and offer great service. I think you'll be very happy with AutoLocators.

bad experience

They post a toyota rav4 online and when I got there they told me its been sold....and even after a week, the car is still on the website. And when I said I want a test driving but I dont have insurance because this is first time I m going to buy a car, the dealer thought it was very funny and laughed...

Dealer response

We are sorry for your disappointment in our dealership. We try and take all sold vehicles off our website but it takes a few days for them to clear. In the state of Texas it is illegal to drive a car without insurance and if you were stopped, our car would be towed and we would have to pay a fine. Our insurance does not allow for anyone to drive our cars without a valid drivers license and updated insurance. Again we are sorry for any misunderstandings that occurred during your visit.

I recently bought my 3rd car from Richard at Auto Locators of Texas. He has also sold 2 of mine. I fully believe RIchard is an honest guy and does his best to get fair prices both in selling my cars and finding me the one I want. Because I had some specifications that were harder to find on this last vehicle, it took some time for Richard to find it. I appreciated that he consistently communicated with me what he was finding, prices, and his opinions about the vehicles. I respect Richard's opinion and so patiently waited until he found my car that met all my requirements. I will do business again with Richard and have also recommended Auto Locators to my friends. Handled everything beautifully!

Bought a used 2006 Nissan Altima 2 weeks ago. No negotiation on price, but it was still a decent deal. We have had many issues with the car, but we give high marks despite the troubles because Amber did everything she could even though she didn't have to; it was purchased "as is" and yet she helped us fix a few things after the purchase. To me that shows integrity. I would go back to purchase another vehicle. THANK YOU AMBER!! YOU ARE AN ANGEL :) In case anyone is curious as to the details: As a buyer I should have looked at the car more carefully. On the way home I tried to roll down driver side window, but it didn't roll down, though the others did. Hubby followed me home and noted that the optional tail light bar across trunk doesn't light. Noted ding in windshield I hadn't seen. And while I was paying for vehicle (yes, bring cash or checkbook as they do not have a credit card machine), they cleaned up the car quickly (it was closing time on Saturday), left some sort of white spray residue over front of black vehicle. Also idles sort of rough, though quick Google search shows that a low idle rate will cause vibration, so I will take it to a Nissan dealership to have it adjusted. Two days later the car didn't start; I jumped the car and it worked fine after that. The following Thursday I took the car back to have tint added, and I asked Amber Wise if she could have the battery issue and window issue looked at (and clean up the whitish spots on car); the rest we would deal with, as it was a used car sold "as is". (Admittedly the car window issue was my fault for not checking before purchase.) Amber was so sweet, she had her mechanic look at it. She called to say they added a new battery and the problem with the window was the motor; she checked w/the former owner, who said he would pay for half the cost of part if I paid the other half. I felt this was fair since I should have checked, so I was okay with that. The next day they found the issue was also with the window switch, so they had to order that, of which they would cover the cost. I picked up my car with 4 windows tinted & the motor & battery replaced, while they were ordering the switch. I would come back the following week for the switch replacement & driver's side window tinted. In the meantime, the new battery died. AutoZone told us the battery was not brand new, but several years old; however, it was still holding a charge, working fine, and something else is going on. At that point, I was very frustrated and just wanted the switch replaced and tint done so I could be done & then take it somewhere to look, thinking I had some power drain on the battery. When I took it back in, Amber felt really bad and wanted to have her mechanic look at it. So I left it another night. He says it was the broken switch drawing the power on the battery down. Yay! Switch was replaced w/another used one, which is fine - it is a used car, afterall. I picked it up Friday with the hope that it is all done. I paid the window tinting and 1/2 cost of window motor. Drove the vehicle last 2 days with no other issues. Hope the battery stays healthy :) The reason I give the high marks despite the troubles - Amber is absolutely a beautiful soul. She is well-meaning and I believe she does her best given the constraints with purchasing as-is used cars. She did not have to provide another battery, look at car, have motor/switch replaced...she did it because she wanted to be the best help she could. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY GO BACK THERE FOR ANY OTHER PURCHASE I need to make! THANK YOU AMBER!! :)

I've bought three suburbans from Auto Locators over the past 4 years. I've never been unhappy. Their process is very friendly and laid back; their prices are terrific. I would highly recommend Auto Locators and as a 50 something, I've dealt with plenty of dealerships over the years. Judging from some of the other comments on this site, I'd offer two comments. First, these are used cars. Used cars are never risk free, especially more than a year or two old, or when the car has more mileage. Second, trading in a vehicle is always problematic. You can't fault a dealer for trying not to lose money on a trade-in. Bottom line, if you know what you are looking for, stay with a newer model car and don't need to trade-in a vehicle, you can can a heck of a deal through Auto Locators of Texas.

This place is the worst dealer I have ever dealt with. My girlfriend and I went on the search to find a new car for her and she decided she wanted a two door Nissan Altima Coupe. Well we found one that appeared to be in good shape. So we went and checked it out and took it around for a test drive. Tested every single button in the car to make sure it worked. and sure enough she liked the car, so I did a thorough looking over and through the car; under the hood, under the car, making sure no frame damage, etc. I came across a section in the door which had some slight over spray on it, barley noticable to some one who doesnt know anything about painting. then also half of the pinstriping tape (dealer install stuff) on that side of the car was missing. So I put two and two together and knew that whether or not it was on the carfax or not, this car had been in some kind of accident. They refused to accept this, whatever; the car was still in good condition. Told them they needed to remove the rest of the pinstriping or re-do it before taking delivery of the car. Everything was fine and dandy. Then they decided to low-ball us on our trade-in (typical used car dealer stuff) saying that kia's dont exactly bring in the customers they want to deal with...(um what?) and that because they arent going to keep it on the lot and sell retail they will just be taking it to auction. Again, not a big deal. Signed all the paper work with the agreed price of the altima and the trade on her kia. Walked out 30 minutes later. Skip forward 4 days, and we get in the car after work and turn the a/c on and it isnt as cold as normal. We keep driving and its getting hotter and hotter, until the point where it is just fanning hot air out of the engine bay. Now we are irritated. So we drive it home in 100degree heat with no a/c at all. Once home we park in the the driveway and i get my guages and check the freon pressures, Almost no pressure. So basically these guys chocked it full of freon before selling it, knowing there was an issue with the a/c. Next day, we call the receptionist and tell them there is an issue with the a/c and this needs to be taken care of and that it is completely unacceptable. So they told us to bring the car in and they will take care of it. Well they said they took it to "their" mechanic who is not located on site and reports to us the compressor is bad. Now at this point I am royally pissed off. So the girl amber comes back with, "well rich says that he will only cover half of the cost to repair because the air conditioning in your kia is out" i asked for the keys to the kia to check this out, and sure enough I turn the car on and cold a/c within seconds. I come back in and told them they were full of it and that this is ridiculous. We took the Nissan and left after having waited an hour for them to bring the car from their "mechanic" I would NEVER EVER in a million years recommend that anyone go there. They are sketchy and shady and in no way pleasant to deal with. They would not tell us the name of their mechanic who would be doing any kind of work and that the half of the repair cost would goto him. I would never trust any body to do work on my cars that affiliates himself with these people.

No high pressure sales here!

Recently while searching for a used vehicle, I was referred to Auto Locators and reluctantly visited their location. I was pleasantly surprised at none only the inventory that they had to offer, but the friendly and knowledgeable sales rep. They seemed to address the specifics of the car that I was interested in and made sure that I was aware of certain aspects that I was unaware of. Financing the car was a pretty simple process comparatively. Is anything simple in this day and age? Anyway, I took the car back shortly after the purchase because I had decided to have the windows tinted on it. They got me a great deal! I have referred everyone I know who is looking in the used car field to visit them first! I love the comfortable sales tactics and not having a dealership full of hungry salespeople try their "expertise" on reeling in another sale.

Highly recommended! Best dealership in town!

I was shopping around for used Toyotas on Cars.com and came across Auto Locators of Texas inventory. I hit the chat button to inquire about a specific vehicle, they replied immediately and answered all of my questions. After a quick follow up call, I came in, test drove the vehicle (surprisingly non pressured) and was in and out of there within 30 minutes. Amber was able to beat my credit unions finance rate. Save your time looking else where. There are the nicest laid back folks in town! A+++++++

disapointed

After 12 emails with the saleswoman and even deciding upon a trade-in offer, I informed her that I would be making the 3 hour drive to Plano to test drive the truck and discuss purchasing it. As I was leaving my hotel that morning to drive to dealership to get there as they opened, I received a phone call from the saleswoman. She was calling to tell me that she was in the process of showing the truck to someone and would call me if it didn't work out. Thanks thanks... on the road again.
