Used car purchase

The worst purchase experience of my life. I pay the deposit on Friday. They told me I had to go to finish the purchase on a Saturday. They had me there all Saturday afternoon while they were doing the paperwork. And I couldn?t get the car until next week.

Great buying experience

Bought a mustang, priced very fairly and sales process was great. No hard sales tactics, paperwork was easy to do.

Great experience

Travis was awesome. We had fun working with him and got the perfect car for our needs. As a repeat BMW buyer, it was my first experience at BMW Atlanta and we preferred it to our previous experience at another dealer. Buying a car is pretty painful and long but that?s to be expected. They did their best to make the actual transaction as smooth as possible. I?m sure we will be back for our next BMW!!

Our Client Advisor, Derrick, was a nice man. We were in need of a used vehicle, and found what appeared to be a nice Acura MDX at a reasonable price. It drove well around the block (albeit not fast or hard), was clean, and appeared to be in gently used condition. They said it had gone through a safety inspection and was good to go. We decided to buy it. After signing some paperwork with Derrick, our Client Advisior, we had to wait to speak with a sales manager to take care of the money part. It was a card transaction, no financing. It was TWO HOURS before we walked out the door. Now for the bad part. I took the vehicle to my mechanic early the very next morning. Two hours later I got a call saying I shouldn't buy this vehicle and a long list of what was wrong with it. They said that this car should never have been sold, and put out to auction instead. Brake pads down to 3mm (safety issue), broken motor mount (safety issue), signs of engine sludge, looks like someone tried to clean it, CV boot blown out (grease on brake rotors is a safety issue), and most concerning was a torque converter shudder starting at 2000 RPM. And an oil level warning light came on as my wife pulled into the driveway. So I went back to Global Imports BMW that evening, less than 24 hours after purchasing the vehicle. When I asked a sales manager about all my safety concerns and how did it pass their safety inspection, he told me the "safety inspection" on used vehicles consists of Start, Steer, and Stop. Translation: if they can drive it in a figure eight without crashing it passes their "safety inspection". The car was purchased "As Is". No return. The rumored 3-day lemon law does not apply in Georgia. I am stuck with a clean looking ticking time bomb. How long before the transmission goes out ($5,000 repair)? Does the oil sludge indicate something? I'm facing a bill of at least another $1500 to fix brakes, motor mount, and CV boot. At least Global Imports gave me back a small amount of my money (not enough to cover the brake repairs, though).
