Cash buy, garbage security sys, DIRT treatment

Long story short, you spend thousands of dollars in cash paying off a vehicle right off the lot, install the optional KARR security system, get treated VERY poorly by the service staff after asking questions about how the system works DIFFERENTLY than the stock system, and return home only to find that "the system has been set to a low sensitivity to avoid random alarms going off" WAS A COMPLETE LIE as it continuously goes off approaching the double digits in occurances by itself. Still waiting on any further updates from the Penske Staff concerning the return option I was offered if I was for any reason unhappy with the system (or overly expensive Green Light as it appears), we are GREATLY DISAPPOINTED in the quality of staff in Penske Chevrolet. Drove over two hours to come look at a vehicle listed online after asking for a price that the vehicle would be after tax+ licensing. Upon arriving we were helped in a relatively timely manner, considering there were about 15 or so employees on the clock. Shortly after taking a test drive in a dirty car with crumbs and chunks of food all over the floor, we decided to look past that as it would be the car for us to take home. We figured it was a new-ish listing, so the cleanliness could be taken care of. We purchased the car paying cash from the internet sales manager Michael P. The staff didn't seem too happy with that, for whatever reason, probably because they felt that they didn't accurately price the listing online according to the features it had. There were countless other almost identical listing at other dealerships for the same price; therefore. there should have been no issue. On a different note, the financing agent we worked with was the best part about the visit, he was the most personable, friendly, and accommodating member of the staff that we had a chance to work with. He persuaded us to take the opportunity to install the aftermarket KARR security system. Definitely something we regret spending the money on. After the installation the service center worker Jessica (I dont remember last name, short brunette hair) informed me that she would be the one to show me how the system works/ differences from stock alarm system. She showed me approach of rolling the window down, locking the car, then reaching inside to open the car door. That is a feature that is standard on the normal STOCK car alarm so I asked what the difference was. She decided to call service worker Jose who installed the system to ask further information, and while she was on the phone I asked if he had information as to the possibility of myself altering the sensitivity of the alarm since I was told that there was indeed an impact sensor in the system. The system did not work after hitting the car, or sitting inside the locked car and hitting the steering wheel, which Jose instructed to demonstrate any differences. CLEARLY it appears as though I was sold an overly expensive flashing green light and nothing more, when advertised to "kill the car gas pedal and functionality upon activation of alarm". I asked to speak with someone else as to determine where these missing features were and to see if a refund is necessary since they said the service worker left at least an hour before the car was finished. I was reassured that the system is set at a low sensitivity in order to avoid being set off after any car/motorcycle driving by, so I trusted Johnny Chase's words and he said that if there was any issue within the week of purchasing the system if I was decidedly unhappy with the system I may get a full refund and they will pull the add-on system. So I decided to take their word that it was a sound investment and drive home. After arriving home, the alarm went off BY ITSELF at 2 AM, 535, twice around 8 AM, so i called the KARR system service number and was informed that a representative would be in contact to set up an appointment to come fix the system. Few hrs later and no updates.

Great service

I purchased a 2015 Chevy malibu from Chevrolet penske of Cerritos. Orlando Bautista did a fantastic job, he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend my friends and family to only deal with Orlando.

Great Service Tony Lathun!

Called up Penske late Friday afternoon for Saturday morning service. Brought my vehicle in at 1100 and it was completed by 1330 or so. Tony Lathun provided all the information I needed up front. Nice Work folks.

GREAT service!

Faith took excellent care of my service needs ... Got the problem diagnosed and scheduled quickly! While I live in So OC ... Penske is definitely worth the drive!! Fantastic staff all 'round!

Great Car Buying Experience

Bought a 2015 Camaro ZL1 from Scott Hall. We had a few minor issues, but Scott went out of his way to make sure I was happy. Will definitely look to Scott and Penske Chevrolet for my next car purchase.

Quick and Efficient

For the first few oil changes, we used a national chain, but we finally tired of the high pressure sales effort for other services, and the continual, "your air filter is dirty" notice. Since we purchase our car from Penske, it seemed natural we consider trying them for this service, even though they aren't nearly as close as the chain store. I'm glad we did. We dropped the car off, and even used a coupon they had mailed us for the oil change. I asked what other service might be needed, and to my surprise, the answer was, we will inspect several things, but given your mileage, you probably won't need anything else. Sure enough, they completed the oil change for the discounted price, as well as the no-charge recall work, and told us all of the inspections were fine. The work was done promptly. Our service writer, Carlos Olivares, was courteous and communicated everything clearly. He even offered me a free cup of coffee when I dropped off the car, even though my ride was due any minute. Based on this experience, I don't have any worries about bringing the car here for any future service.

Thanks to Rey Torres who patiently introduced us to the features of each car that we looked at. No pressure from him to buy at all. The ball was ours. We asked and he gave us good answers.
