Great car buying experience!
We had the best car buying experience we have ever had at Matthews Motors on 10/03/13. From the customer service to the finanancing, everthing went extra smooth!! Our saleman, Dallas, was very attentive and knowledgeable. Kim Miller in financing was extra helpful! We, unfortunately, have less than perfect credit and never felt judged about it. We were treated like we had A1 credit. The whole process was pleasureable to say the least and now we are enjoying our 2013 Kia Soul. I have already referred people to Matthews Motors. Matthews has always been a great place to take your car. After the first time you have them service your car, you will get coupons. I received an oil change and tire rotation for $9.99. The techs are friendly and helpful. I highly suggest Matthew Motors.

Best experience buying a car ever!!!
I went into the dealership with a credit that wasn't that spectacular. They got me approved, put me in an amazing car that was almost brand new with low low miles. The customer service was great, the gentlemen in the office really cared about the customer. It was a great experience and it did not take too long. If you are looking for a car and might not have the best credit, this is the place to go. It will raise your credit since they do report to a credit bureau. Don't be ignorant though you will need a down payment, that's just how life works.

MATTHEWS MOTORS IS THE PLACE TO BUY A USED CAR
I have bought many cars as I am 47. I have never had as nice and pleasant an experience as I did buying from Matthews Motors. Robert Walker has found his calling. He is listens and understands his customer's needs and desires. Our credit was horrible due to unexpected circumstances because of the current economy and bad decisions. Robert Walker made a nervouse customer feel welcomed and at home. Victoria also was above reproach. Her friendly customer service skills just added to the entire experience. We never felt pressured. We were given the facts and allowed to make our own decision. I had three other pre approvals and three other " credit specialty dealerships". I chose Matthews Motors because of Robert Walker and staff.

Theyre terrible at following up with anything!!!
I sold my SUV to MM Clayton and their communication skills were terrible. From the bartering process to signing forms and awaiting my check to come in the mail, their customer service was next to impossible and for the most part they treated me like I didnt matter. I had to contact their Goldsboro dealership at one point just to get through to them. Stereotypically as you?d expect from any dealership, once they get what they want they?ll toss you to the curve. Leading up to this horrible experience, I showed up and signed my truck over to them with THE TITLE IN HAND; they lost the title, and then made me wait for a lien release to come in before they sent me my money...but it wasnt until they had taken the truck off my hands and I was on my way that I would later realize what came of the situation. This entire time I was down a vehicle and needed my money to peruse a purchase elsewhere. I would call them dozens of times; I even waited on hold for Val for 45 minutes at one point before hanging up. If this is the kind of relationship you want with your dealer then by all means- I am not a rookie to the stealership process, I know to get my ducks in a row before dealing with any store but I couldve done without this hassle.

We are truly sorry for your disappointment. Unfortunately when buying a vehicle from a customer we are required to get a lien release from the former lending institution to verify the title is not counterfeit, that said, a better effort to communicate with you should have been made and we have and will continue to evaluate all of our processes to make all types of transactions as smooth as possible. If you will get in touch with myself I do have some service coupons I would like to give you in an effort to say we know where we went wrong with communication and want nothing more than to do better the next time and retain you as a valuable customer. Very Misleading
Horrible experience. I had an appt. at 10am. Took all paperwork they requested, check stubs, bank statements, insurance verification. Knew that my credit wasn't good and that's why I went there because of their internet advertisement that they helped those with bankruptcy and bad credit. After taking my information, came back and said they couldn't take my trade and I'd have to put 1000.00 down. Didn't offer any alternatives so I left. Had my heart set on an older model Infiniti and salesperson made it clear that it wasn't an option.

We are so sorry you were unable to obtain financing from one of our lenders, man how we wish we could loan their money for them. Matthews Motors is a third party that secures its financing from banking and lending institutions, that said sometimes they are unable to approve certain vehicles or year models, sometimes they just cant approve the customers credit. That said we can always find a way to help most everyone but sometimes financially the terms are tough to meet in this case it sounds like it was the down payment that prevented a car deal from being made. If your situation of cash down payment changes please give us a call. Most of our car loans do not require a physical cash down payment but some do, we are terribly sorry the bank could not process your loan with zero down. We strive to get each and every deal approved that we can, we only get paid when we sell a vehicle. Thanks Dave K
Excellent Customer Service
I will ONLY purchase a vehicle from Matthews Motors in Clayton!!! They are always top notch vehicles when I purchase every 3 years & the staff go above & beyond to ensure I am always Happy! When I need an oil change, tires balanced & rotated or hear a strange noise I always feel confident I will be leaving safely!
