Car of my dreams - Toyota Prius 2010

My experience at Elite Motors has been great from start to finish.Craig Gutowsky promptly returned my internet email. I was able to make the 3.5 hr drive to Mundelein from Wisconsin 3 days later and the car was everything I had hoped for: Red, Leather, Nav, Moonroof, and immaculate condition. Great buying experience!!!!

The BEST Car Buying experience of my life

Just wanted to share a fantastic experience I had with Elite Motors. I had a friend make several purchases from this dealer and when she found out I was looking for an upscale vehicle, she highly recommended it. I was floored by the quality of both the service from my salesman Steve and by the office manager Debra. My purchase was for a late model BMW and I purchased it from out of state. The vehicle was in immaculate shape. My experience with the handling of the transaction was just as professional. Both Steve and Debra have made me a lifelong customer of Elite Motors. I HIGHLY recommend this fine organization for the serious car buyer.

Was looking for a rare Audi Allroad with low, low miles...

Was looking for a rare Audi Allroad with low, low miles for our 1st family vehicle. After several months of searching (and loosing out on 4 potential Allroads with miles less than 60,000) we found an 2004 Allroad with 34,500 miles on Autotrader at Elite Motors. (FYI Average mileage of an 2004 Allroad is 109,000 miles and the lowest I had found prior was 48,000 miles) Spoke with Diego who with no money down guaranteed me 1st look at the vehicle when it hit his lot. Diego was true to his word. He called daily to keep me posted on any progress and updates to service work which may have needed to be performed. My concern was that another salesman would sell it without his knowledge. To ease my concern; he had the Manager Mark inform all employees of Diego’s promise to me. Received a call from Diego as promised as soon as it hit the lot. Diego allowed me to come up and see it before they even had it detailed. The 2004 Allroad had everything we wanted. Sunroof, Color, etc. Couldn’t believe it. Diego had it detailed and about a week later my wife and I came by to pick it up and take to a local Audi Mechanic for a third party inspection. The car was mint. Only concern was it was missing an air compressor for the spare. Easy to miss. After agreeing on a fair price Diego knocked off the price of a compressor and we signed the paperwork. Most of us are skeptical of salesman. Diego was hand down the exception to the rule. He followed through with everything he said. Couldn’t be happier. Looking forward to many, many years with our new family vehicle.

Good car, but be careful when closing the deal

I bought a car from them with very low miles. Worked with the sales person Craig Gutowsky. Craig was really great, very honest and easy to work with. I read some of the prior reviews and I was not very sure whether to deal with this dealer at all, but after talking with Craig I felt very comfortable and decided to go ahead. The car was in great condition, still under factory warranty and everything went perfectly fine, until I walked in to the business manager's office to sign the paperwork. I had applied for financing through the dealer. I was dealing with the business manager Debra Shore to take care of the paperwork. She tried to trick me in to buying extended warranty and all kinds of stuff by squeezing those in to the total amount financed. She showed me the different extended warranty programs, tire and wheel protection, key replacement etc. and said the entire thing was only something between $800 and $900. I thought it was a steal but was skeptical at the same time and kept asking her how much each of these options cost. Again she came back with the same figure and said she had some unused vouchers she could use to get me all kinds of discounts and I thought she was so great and I owe her big time. She kept on throwing the papers in front of me to sign for each of these additional stuff and each of them had different dollar amount, which added up to several thousands. So, I kept on asking her why is it showing up this amount and she said, don't worry about it because her vouchers will take those off..just sign them!!. Well, I started to get little bit nervous, but went along with it because it makes sense that discount vouchers will reduce the total price of items. After getting everything else signed, she brought up the Retail Installment Contract. She pointed me to the monthly payment, try to show me what a great deal I was getting and asked me to sign it by diverting my attention away from the total amount financed. I told her to hold off and started looking at the numbers and found that the financed amount was several thousand dollars more than the purchase price of the car! I started suspecting everything at this point, including the low mileage on the car. Finally I figured out what she was trying to do. She was showing me my monthly payment and was trying to trick me in to buying all the extra stuff making me think that cost of all the extra she was throwing in there was only few hundred dollars. I told her to take all the extras off the list and she started complaining that she will lose all those vouchers she used and tried to put pressure on me to buy at least the tire and wheel protection. I told her no. So, she finally printed a new contract, I signed it and got out of the place. To me, this is pure cheating. I had two of my relatives lined up to trade in their cars with Craig after seeing what I got. Once I told them about this story, they both backed off. The bottom line - if you are dealing with them, try to catch hold of Craig. When you are closing the deal, stay away from Debra. Ask for someone other than her. My note to Elite Motors management: I don't know whether Debra was doing this on her own to get her commission or whether this kind of shady business practice is something what the management promotes. In either case, I can tell you that you will never get a repeat business or a referral if you continue to do this kind of business practice. Debra can offer all these additional products and services, but the actual cost should be disclosed up front and should never try to trick someone like this.

Dealer response

We present all of our customers with four easy and affordable payment options in a menu format which is the first document we present. Each warranty has its own individual contract to sign, which clearly has the price disclosed on it. The bill of sale has every price itemized on it as well as on the retail installment contract. Seems like in this case customer thought when he was told by Debra the payment that it was the actual cost of the warranty. It is a common sense that the cost of a warranty for a 2009 Mercedes Benz can?t possibly cost under $1000.00, which was clients monthly payment. Customer simply mistaken his monthly payment as the cost of the warranty. Client was also presented with a limited time rebate, which unfortunately did not took advantage off and was passed on to the next happy client. This was simply a small confusion; we apologies for any trouble it may cause you.

BMW 535i

Well, my experience was ok. I bought the vehicle from Afghanistan and ran into a lot of issues. I know friends of mine that have done similar purchases and didn't have to go through the hassle i did. Although, My sales guy Craig, was helpful when ever I was able to get hold of him, but I got the the feeling something was iffy. On a certain incident, I called to speck with Craig and was told he was at lunch, then during the same conversation with the same lady, I was told he was home sick and when I confronted her about her inconsistency, she told me he had just stepped out. I just recieved my vehicle today, I will inspect it thoroughly and make updates to my review. All -n-all great place to buy nice cars and Craig is the one to talk to.

Mercedes E class

Came to see MB E class. Sales person didn't see the difference between classes, knew much less about this car than my wife. Telephone conversation about this car a day later was at least discouraging. Despite all of this we decided to buy this car from this dealer. Called on Saturday to get everything ready . the same sales person promised to call me later. We spent the rest of the day waiting for a phone call- hadn't happened. Called next week to try again. Unpleasant sales person just tried to cover without giving me any incentive to come . WILL NEVER COME BACK,

Craig is great but the rest of the business is bad, bad!!! Sold us a truck that had a $1,100 repair bill, still have no plates or a tile after a month! No one returns phone calls or emails after the sale! I would never buy from this place again!

Used Car

The buying process was very slow initially, but onCe Craig got involved it really seemed to help the process. Although members of the dealership can be hard to get in touch with, I'm very happy with my final product. Craig even pulled some strings to have my car shipped immediately before I left to be out of town. They also apparently are going to licence my car and mail me the new plates, so we'll see how that process goes!
