Great New Car Experience

I had very specific needs when searching for a new car. My sales professional, Luis Vega, was patient and spent a great deal of time explaining the differences in the product line. In the end, I decided on the Subaru Legacy and it couldn't have worked out better. I thank Luis and the staff backing him up at the dealership.

Outstanding customer service & best deal

I shopped around and hands down Bertera Subaru was the friendliest and best customer service. They made it worth the drive down to Hartford from Western Massachusetts.

They kept their promise

I travelled from LI to buy car here. All the negotiations were on phone. They gave me fair deal on Impreza and though was skeptical about driving 2+ hours I took the risk. And then to my surprise they gave exactly what they promised... no gimmicks, no pushing, no surprises. Got my car in 2 days with finance was like 30 mins flat!!! Thanks Bill and Bertera Subaru for great experience.

Perfect!

Anthony was terrific! He stayed in touch with us about when the car would be ready and explained how the car worked. He also set up my Subaru Smartlink. I highly recommend Bergerac Subaru and Anthony.

Paul W.- sales , Chris-GM , and Pam-Finance are amazing!

This is the 3rd car I bought at Bertera. My second one from Paul W. This is also the 2nd time I worked with Pam in Finance. Chris, Paul, and Pam are a dream team. They truly care about servicing their customers and making them feel like family. Ask for Paul you will be in great hands!!! As far as service goes ask for Le, he is very kind and understanding!

good experience

We were greeted when we walked in and Joe Boughton came over and introduced himself to us. Joe worked with us which made us feel comfortable at all stages of purchase. Joe understood our needs & finding the color we wanted.

Excellent dealership

Bill was really awesome, very fair and straightforward. This is only the second time I buy a new car from a dealer, so I was not at all comfortable doing this now. But Bill made it all look painless. He worked hard to please me and get me what I wanted. The finance manager was also very friendly and direct, no curveballs. I would certainly shop there again, and I would definitely recommend him and the dealership to any of my friends.

Great vehicles, lackluster dealership.

I purchased a new, 2017 Subaru Outback. My experience is typical of experiences I've had with purchasing new cars in the past. This dealership is part of a large chain of dealerships, so I would not expect an experience that is unique to Subaru. Many dealerships are located in the North Meadows of Hartford, which is terrible location to test drive a car, so I would test drive at other locations before coming here. I'd like to document what occurred when I purchased my car with the hopes that future Bertera customers will have a better experience. Spending 36k on a car should be a pleasurable experience right? After negotiating what I thought was a fair price, I set up an appointment to pick up my new car at 1:30 PM. The sales person said he would be available from 12:30 to 6PM. I live about 60 miles away and it was the day before Thanksgiving, so there was some traffic which caused me to arrive at 1:47 PM. Immediately, I was castigated for showing up late. I also received text messages asking why I did not arrive on time. (Please note, do NOT give these people your mobile phone number, they will text you incessantly.) We sat down with the finance manager and signed the paperwork. Notably. the price for the vehicle had risen about $200 from the price I was quoted. Fortunately, this was resolved. I was pressured into purchasing an extended warranty. The price was rolled into the monthly payment for the car, which came out to about $1800. I declined. The finance manager explained the registration process, since the car would be registered out of state. Our salesperson installed our license plate to the back of the car and left the screw driver on his desk. He gave us a thorough tour of the vehicle and answered all of our questions. We looked at the trunk of the car and my father pointed out that something appeared to be missing. The salesperson explained that there was nothing missing and everything was complete. Finally, we met the a sales manager and were on our way. The following Friday, I was reading through the owner's manual and discovered that there was in fact something missing from the trunk of the car. I emailed the salesperson and he responded promptly to meet him at the dealership at 9AM. I drove the 60 miles to the dealership and he handed me the screw driver from his desk. No apology and no offer to compensate me for the fuel costs. Later that same day, I received a phone call from the general manager. I expected him to apologize, but he simply asked me if I was still interested in purchasing a 2017 Outback. I told him I was no longer interested because I was already driving one during the phone call. In retrospect, I would have preferred a more enjoyable experience, but have grown to be complacent over the years. I think the days of excellent customer service have long since died. I am pleased with my new car and I guess that's all that matters. If it's "Love that makes a Subaru, a Subaru," I'm still not convinced, but remain open minded. *Update: I just received a phone call from the finance manager asking how I would like to register my car and that they lost the registration for my trade. Perhaps they've also forgotten to process my auto loan... but I doubt it!
