Buying my new Kia Sportage

Joe went to the extreme to make sure I was comfortable with the price of my new car and the price I wanted for my trade in. Highly recommend this dealership!!

Lack of Intelligence

I don't even know where to start other than they know nothing about cars. 1) I want new rims for my 2017 Kia Sportage. I am getting conflicting information from two well known tire dealers about the offset of my rim. I called Kia Service who was unable to tell me the allotted offset for my vehicle. I was transferred to the Parts department who didn't even know what an offset was. 2) I brought my car in for a recall and requested that they look into why it feels like a ball rolling around under the drivers seat. Three times they kept trying to tell me it's a rattle from either the rear view mirror or the charm that I have on my gear shift. I explained to them multiple times that it is not a rattle it is a feeling of something moving in the seat. I told them to take it for a test drive and turn the corner and they will feel it shift. Needless to say they believe that if I ride with the technician I will be able to help diagnose the vehicle. I'd like to know how I am supposed to determine what the technician does or does not feel. Seriously hire some intelligent, skilled mechanics and services technicians. If it weren't for the warranty I would take the car to a reputable mechanic with common sense.

"Melissa was an angel, highly recommend"

My first visit to Kia was not what I hoped for but that was in a big part because I was not yet ready to make the leap. After the first visit Melissa kept in touch and was so helpful through the whole process, and we ended up buying a 2015 Kia Soul which was pre certified. My monthly payment expectations were unreasonably low during the first visit yet Melissa kept working hard to find us the right vehicle with a lower payment. After we signed all the papers she even spent half an hour helping us sync our phones and the blue tooth system. I would definitely recommend Melissa and the Kia dealership for anyone who wants a reliable vehicle with reasonable payments, even those who may have poor credit. In spite of being a bad customer Melissa continued working with me, and she was so patient when my emotional attachment to my previous vehicle made me unreasonable. The best car buying experience that I have ever had and Kia and Melissa will be my go to in a few years when we need another vehicle for my husband.

treated like a thief

I came in to this dealership wanting to buy a soranto, i seen it on line, it was in stock. I wanted to trade my 2013 mustang 5.0 in. I made a request on line, the next day a young lady name Brandy and she made appointment me to be at the dealership at 630pm. I came directly from work. I am a family dollr store manager and had just unload a truck before i came ( maybe that was it, i wasn't dress right). Jerry that help me first started talking about a lease. I never wanted a lease. He expained that i probably didn't have equity in the car in the . Bah bah!!! Jerry wanted my registerationfor my car, i thought this was different. Than he took my registeration to back of my car and check the plate number with my registeration to see if it match. Like he doubted it was my car. I totally felt like i was a thief, con artist. I have bought at least 3 brand new cars over the years. I will not be buying a car. You won't be seeing me in a KIA. P.s. jerry, my husband die 6 years ago thats why so many changes in 6 years.

they lie to you for your business

we did not want a lease with any charges at the end of lease that are unexpected. we were told that there would be none. just return kia at end of lease and that is it... well now lease is almost over and they want us to pay 400 if we do not lease again.. we can not afford to lease kia as insurance is tooooo high. cost to insure a kia is higher than insuring a 45000 dollar chevy truck.. then the charges that they want you to pay for should you happen to have a scratch or tiny dent , they are unreal. will not lease another and not suggest anyone else leases one , especially from Jackson mich dealer

Good initial experience, disappointing after care

I recently bought a new Optima Turbo SXL. The initial buying process was great. Quick and easy. On my drive home, I noticed that there was some paint missing on the hood of the car facing the windshield. In its location, it was an obvious manufacturing defect. I immediately e-mailed my sales associate, Alicia, asking if it could be touched up in the coming days. The next day, I had to visit the dealership to hand over the title to my trade in. Alicia asked to see the missing paint and upon seeing it, she said "We'll have to see if we can fix it." I responded that this was a brand new car and it had to be fixed. She replied that since she inspected the car on the day of sale and didn't notice it then, she couldn't be sure when the issue had occurred. I was stunned at that comment. I had just spent $35k on a car which at that point, had under 100 miles on it. Additionally, the location of the missing paint would indicate that it in no way could have been caused under my care in such a short period of time. Even a rock thrown from a passing car's tire statistically couldn't have caused this. I asked to talk to the manager who came out and inspected the car. His immediate reaction was in aggreance with my own assessment and he stated that "of course we will fix that". Very well handled, Steve. So, pending the fix on Monday, I am generally satisfied with my experience at this dealership. However, my sales rep's after-sale care left me extremely dissatisfied and I will not be dealing with her in the future. I think some training for her in these types of situations is necessary. And as for the car... it is pretty awesome!
