Bad Customer Service
Went to "The Selection" car lot three times to view a Ford truck. First and second time I was told the sales rep/owner was out doing personal shopping in the truck. The third time the truck was on the lot, but was dirty inside (trash) and unwashed outside from the rep/owner driving.

Excellant service before and after the sale
My Wife and I were looking for a VERY Specific Lexus and we also wanted it in a HURRY! Hawk helped us satisfy both of these requirements in a matter of days. Hawk found several cars for us to choose from, and was very understanding when we rejected each choice and most important stayed on the case until he found the vehicle we wanted. See you need to understand that I had 12 major to minor automotive dealers on this project and I would have to say that the word LAZY doesn't even start to explain the pathetic work ethic I found in all other dealers. It amazed my wife and I how the lack of effort that all other dealers were putting into to find us a car. NO ONE WANTS TO WORK TO MAKE A SALE.............EXCEPT Hawk and his team at the Selection! They really earned the sale and I would never shop anywhere else. We live off the Plaza in Kansas City ( 45 minute drive to The Selection ) and it was well worth the trip. ON A SECOND NOTE: We had several small issues when the car was delivered to the dealership. Hawk made sure all the issues were taken care for us prior to delivery. He made sure the care was detailed and all repairs wee complete. EXCEPT, and this is the most important part, the original dealer did not send the second key ( 300.00 ). Hawk worked relentlessly with the dealer, after we had taken delivery, to get the key. After a few weeks and he was not able to get the original key he paid for us to go to our local Lexus dealer to have a replacement key made. That is EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE ..... AFTER THE SALE! I will go the The Selection for all my cars. Great service and I feel like I got a great deal. I can always call and they take care me. The truck was in excellent condition and I have not had any problems with it since I purchased it.

Exceptional Sales and Service - Tahoe LTZ
Pros: My experience in selecting and purchasing our Tahoe from The Selection in Lawrence, KS was tremendous. From the detailed listing of the SUV on cars.com, the comprehensive service history at no charge, and excellent sales and service discussions, I have never had a better buying experience (and I have had many). Hawk, Doug, and all other employees were professional, polite, and knowledgable about their vehicles and anxious to answer questions and ensure that we were completely satisfied with the vehicle. While we were not planning to finance the car through the dealership, Hawk found a compelling financing plan that also enabled us to secure an extended warranty that made the purchase even better. While considering purchasing the Tahoe, we had the opportunity to meet and discuss this dealership with a return customer shopping for another vehicle and decided to complete the sale after the great feedback and recommendations. Cons: Absolutely none. We drove a considerable distance to purchase our vehicle from The Selection and I am truly glad we checked with them first. I cannot imagine why anyone would rate this dealer anything less than perfect! We will definitely return to The Selection for future vehicle purchases and recommend them to anyone looking for the best value and service available... anywhere.

Quality cars and excellent service!
I hadn't bought a car in about 9 years and honestly wasn't looking forward to the purchase process. I tried working with a couple of dealerships in the KC area but things didn't pan out. When I discovered a car online at The Selection that matched what I was looking for, I began the purchase discussions again. I liked what I heard over the phone from Zarif Haque (Hawk) so I scheduled a test drive. I showed up a little later than planned but was greeted with a smile and a handshake. I went out for the test drive (without salesperson in tow, as the other dealerships had done). After the test drive, we discussed the car and the car that I planned to trade-in. After a little bit of no-pressure bargaining, we agreed on a price and began the paperwork. Within 10-15 minutes, I was transferring my possessions from my old car to the new one and was on my way back to KC. The whole process was quick, smooth and very pleasant. I'll be going back to The Selection again for my next vehicle and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality car, excellent service and no hassle bargaining.

Honest, Trustworthy, Effecient, Friendly. and Fast
I have Purchased 3 cars from Hawk so far and intend to buy my next one here too. They have all treated me very professionally and courteously. They handle all of the details of the sale and make it simple. Hawk told me that he would find the car I wanted within 14 days and he did it in less time than that. He went the extra mile for me, even put new tires on the car and matched the deal that Carmax offered.

Nothing Short of the most Amazing Process!
The Selection is so much more then just some cars on a lot. Its more then some guy in a cheap suit trying to cram every deal in the world down your throat and empty your wallet. This place and its staff is world class from the word go. No high pressure sales or phone calls daily. They give you THe Selection then leave you to make your choice. Once your choice is made they are great at making sure you know every detail bumper to bumper about your choice. They take the time to give car fax and ask if you have questions. The shop and detail guys are way above and beyond just as the sales crew! I have never had a more pleasent experience buying anywhere at anytime. Start to finish best darn car place in the nation hands down. I have already reffered 2 other people in the market. Did I mention after a week of research I could find no way to beat the deals they had. AMAZING, Stop reading reviews get to The Selection see "Hawk" and buy your next car!

Outstanding Dealer!
Having had a very bad experience with a small independent used dealer many years ago, I have avoided these lots ever since. Two of my neighbors had great things to say about The Selection, so I decided to give them a go. I found the experience quick, painless. They were extremely honest about their cars and quite forthcoming about their business. As long as they're around, they'll by my future choice -- maybe even enough to consider used instead of new more often.

Yes, I will buy at The Selection again!
I hate shopping for cars, but "Hawk" was an ideal businessman. He didn't plague and pressure us; he was straighforward and truthful, timely and considerate. The process couldn't have been easier or more pleasant. PLUS--I LOVE MY NEW CAR!!! Furthermore, after the sale the dealership supported us with high-quality, no-fuss service. I would buy there again in an instant--and I intend to have my service done there, too.

Waste of time...
I called ahead to make an appointment to see a spacific car listed as being in "excellent overall exterior condition [and] excellent overall interior condition" before i drove 50miles out of my way. Once I arrived some employee named "Doug" provided me with some of the worst customer service I have experanced in a long time. Being the only customers on the small lot, Doug watched us looking at their cars for several minuets then proceeded to walk inside his shop after finishing his cigarette. After completing his break, he simply set down at this desk to play on his laptop. Thinking he had to grab some car notes or take care of something before assisting us, we waited several more minutes for Doug to assist us in our search for a car. I finally had to walk into his shop and ask for him to assist us. When I walked in he asked if I was the one who called earlier about the car and then apathetically shoved the carfax report accross the table instead of politely handing it to me. After he unlocked the car of my interest, I asked him to tell me a little bit about the vehicle. He was only able to tell me the obvious make and year of the car. I asked for more information on it, but he simply replyied "I don't know". I then asked him if there were any known issues with the car. He again replyed "I don't know, you can test drive it yourself if you want and find out.". He also said that their cars go through an inteanse inspection and repair through their mechanic so it probably had nothing wrong with it. Aside from the cheap paint scratch repairs and the paint chipping around the wheel wells, we discovered several issues with the car during the test drive. The items included a window that would not roll down, a broken center cup holder, broken glove-compartment, and broken windshield wiper system. After the test drive, I attempted to talk about a bottom line price for the vehicle, however, Doug kept repeating that the price was still the sticker price and that we would have to talk to the boss to negotiate a price. After asking if we could speak to him, Doug said he was not there and would not be back until tomorrow. I did ask, in light of the discovered issues would they negotiate? He replied no, because the boss was firm with their prices and would not be intrested in dropping the price at all. During my whole conversation with Doug about the price, he never once looked at me in the eye. He instead just stared at his laptop screen. I had to ask him for his bosses contact info and for his name. Like I said before this was some of the worst customer service I have ever experanced. Perhaps Doug wasnt a car salesmen and instead was simply pulled away from his normal duties in order to man the shop in the absence of "the boss". Natually this assumption would account for his limited knowledge on the cars for sale. Still, there is no excuse for his attitude or his poor customer service. It would have been more beinificial for the owner to simply close the store while he was out than let Doug run things because my time was spent receiving a poor experance and impression on this company. My suggestion for any potential customer to this dealership, don't waste your time and go somewhere else.
