i just made my first car purchase.

i just made my first car purchase. i bought a subaru outback. i did have it inspected at Rons garage. they said the car looks good and not to worry. so i went back made a deal with Randy and he made the whole process easy. made me feel comfortable.

today i bought a 2016 impala from Pat at J&R.

today i bought a 2016 impala from Pat at J&R. this is such a great match for me and the price was right were i needed it. Pat also did the financing for me. This was the best place i ever bought from really cool people work there. And they have a little dog that my kids played with.

silverado

i been shopping at j&r for a couple weeks and finally made my decision and i purchased a 17 chevy silverado. this is the nicest truck i could find and the price was very fair compaired to all the other places i was at. finance went smooth and easy. i did buy a warranty cause the price of repaires seem to be going up all the time. i had a great experiance and i think everyone else would to.

subaru

i went to this place and they had so many vehicles to choose from. i spent 3 hours there test driving what i liked and Randy helped me find the right one for me. He listened to everything i wanted and spent alot of time with me to make sure i understood everything about the vehicles. Randy made it very easy to shop. I now own a 2018 subaru outback. I just wanted to thank J&R for having so many options.

PATHETICALLY SHAMEFUL DEALER

In July 2023 I bought a 2016 Ford escape from J & R Auto in SF as a college car for my son. Had the car less than 2 months and ended up needing head gasket...another 3k+ to fix. Was originally asked to tow the car to SF for repair (from Brookings, at my expense). I refused but was told by Brian Smith (manager at J & R) they would at least consider covering part of the repair if I sent them the invoice, which I did. For nearly 2 months I followed up via phone and was given a myriad of excuses as to why they hadn't yet made a decision, including "it was the boss's 60th birthday last week and he hadn't been back in since. Called again on Nov. 20 and was finally informed J & R "would not pay for someone else's work." Their right I guess, but when Brian told me they hadn't been in contact because they "lost my number" I lost it and was promptly hung up on. DO NOT BUY FROM PAT HALEY, BRIAN SMITH, AND J & R AUTO ON WEST 12TH...GARBAGE VEHICLES, GARBAGE SERVICE, SHAMEFUL EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS

Terrible Experience

Knowing what I know now, I would NEVER EVER buy a vehicle from Pat Haley and Brian Smith at J & R Auto again. Less than 2 months after purchasing a 2016 Ford Escape (July 2023) as a college car for my son, the car broke down and needed Head Gasket replacement ($3200). I live in Brookings and opted to have the repairs here in town instead of having it towed to Sioux Falls per J & R request. I did not purchase extended warranty (my bad), but thought a reputable dealer might at least be willing to cover part of the cost given how recently the vehicle was purchased. I faxed my bill to J & R for consideration. Between Oct. 11 and Nov. 20 I called J & R multiple times to inquire whether or not a decision had been made. One time I was told that "the boss" hadn't been in yet, another time I was told "it was the boss' 60th birthday last week and hasn't been in since". Finally on Nov. 20th I called again (with the car now in the shop again for the past 2 weeks) and was informed "no, we're not going to pay for somebody else's work." Ok, that is J & Rs right, I can accept that, even if I don't like it or agree with it. However, at this point, I asked why I was constantly being ducked and provided excuses when I was trying to get a simple yes or no answer on the bill. I was told "sorry, I lost your phone number." Admittedly I said a few choice words and was promptly hung up on. Terrible experience and wouldn't recommend J & R to anyone...EVER.

Mazda

i was originally looking for a murano and after looking at what they had it was a big selection in my price range. i drove several different vehicles and ended up liking the mazda 5 the best. i been driving it for 6 months now and i love this thing. All the sales people were really fun to talk to. it was a great experience.
