We had a great experience at Don Carlton Honda. Jay Hamblin was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the CR-V's features and help program a few of them with me.

Buyer beware! Sami the General Manager and the sleight-of-hand trick. You treated us with disrespect. You yelled and screamed to make yourself feel bigger. No one treats me or my daughter like this. You knew what you were doing for the beginning and I am glad my daughter did not buy from you. Here’s how it played out. On 1/11/2020, Sami (General Manager), Luis Rivas (Used Car Sales), myself and my daughter had a conversation about her soon-to-be Honda purchase. As a first time car buyer my daughter was approved to buy, but just was not ready to buy at that time. The vehicle she was interested in buying was a 2020 Honda Civic Sport, of which was advertised on their website for $21,180. Sami, in Sami fashion, prints out a document from their VinManager Car Dashboard app and begins to tell us he will sell her this car for $21,180. MSRP: $23,180 Selling price $21,180 Doc fee $349 A so-called $500 Honda incentive Grand total and amount financed $22,029. Outside the deal-a check for tax and title $1,029 Now here’s the issue and difficult to follow stories we had to deal with this afternoon. On Jan 11. Sami, tells all of us he will cut my daughter a check for the tax and title for $1,029 (approximation of title & tax). This amount will not be included in final purchase price of $22,029. I’ll write her a check when she ready to buy. I don’t care if it’s a week or month from now I’ll honor this. OK! Sounds like a deal, when she ready. So today, I take off work to go with my daughter and help her understand the process and so she doesn’t get taken or swindle. We go to the dealership and she’s excited. This would be her first purchase! The car she was originally looking at was sold. So she decided to go with a 2020 Honda Civic Sport same model different color. This car was being sold to her for $20,651 (MSRP $23,305), a $349 dock fee and somehow, some way the title and tax $1,029 happened to be included for a grand total of $22,029. After a brief detailed discussion with Luis and with written proof of the conversation with Sami. The $1,029 would not be included and he would write a check to cover tag and title. Luis, makes his way back to speak with a Finance Manager. I’m sure, they were trying to figure out how they were going to lie to us and get us to pay for this. The Finance Manager comes up to the table pulls out a document, stating my daughter was only approved for $18,000, with an extremely high interest rate. The approval amount was NOT true and they never pulled her credit report. He flipped over this document and tells us that she was approved with Honda, with better terms, of course. Trying to get her to use Honda Financing. Then begins to tell us the tag and title will be rolled into loan. Again, I told him the tax and title were not included in this deal per Sami. There will be NO rolling into the loan. I approach Sami again and gave details of our conversation. I pulled out the document HE signed (showed it to him) with the first numbers of the first deal. Sami is NOT listening. We leave out of frustration and the fact I don’t like being lied to. Within 5 minutes. We get a phone call from Sami. On the phone, he tells us the tag and title $1,029 will not be included anywhere in the price or financing. I explained, you promised my daughter in January you would deliver a check for $1,029 if or when she was ready to purchase a car from you. This would not be in the price or anywhere in the financing. He says, yes...yes this will not be anywhere in the back-end or in the financing. We turn around and headed back to the dealership. Sami hands over a 3rd Dashboard document. Same car 2020 Honda Civic Sport MSRP $23,305 Selling price $21,680 total savings of $1,625 Doc fee $349 total price $22,029. The final and ending conversation. Sami rewrote the numbers from the second paperwork, showing the selling price at $20,651 and added the $1029 to the new selling price of $21,680. I noticed something off on this paperwork, and asked Luis to get me the second piece of paperwork. Interesting, how Sami changed the numbers. Now we are in his office. I called him out, the 4th time, he became defensive and angry yelling at me and my daughter. Treating us like we’re stupid, telling us that we don’t know simple math. I told him it’s pretty simple to subtract $21,680 minus $20,651 equaling $1029. In fact Sammy, why don’t you go ahead and do the simple math on the calculator right there on your desk. He was about to and then stopped himself. Yelled at his sales rep to stop getting the car ready. At the same time, I say, good idea. Caught and called out. I will not have my daughter buy from a person like you or a dealership like this. Bottom line. Sami you shuffled the $1,029. Treated us with disrespect. You yelled and screamed to make yourself feel bigger. No one treats me or my daughter like this. You knew what you were doing for the beginning and I am glad my daughter did not buy from you. Sorry I made that mistake. WOW My daughter says, this is horrible I can’t believe people do this.

I enjoyed the sales experience of purchasing our new vehicle. Sam was great to work with and most everything was done by email. I was only at the dealership for about 20 minutes when it came time to complete the paperwork. Sam and Chad had already worked everything up.

Seamless effort with the purchase, Don Carlton Honda

I do not buy a vehicle very often. Usually go 10 years before looking at something newer. Scott Henderson was very professional to work with. No pressure to make the sale. Overall a pleasant experience with the Ford Explorer sale. They seem to seek out good clean lower mileage vehicles. Will consider them again as the need arises.

Fantastic staff...awesome experience. I dealt with Ryan Vogler during the purchase process and another salesman - Ed Small - on a follow-up issue. Both experiences were fantastic. If was clear that the staff at Don Carlton truly care about customer relations.
