I just purchased a Chevy Suburban from Hertz Car Sales in Des Plaines Illinois. it was a great all around experience. Rocco was my sales representative and he did everything that i asked. He was responsive and my the whole experience very easy. Len was the sales manager who handled all of my paperwork and that could not have been easier. I would recommend this dealer to all of my friends. A very easy experience

We purchased a 2020 Toyota Corolla for our 19-year-old daughter from Hertz Car Sales in Des Plaines il in December of 2022. We paid 1/2 the cost and our daughter paid the other 1/2 of the cost. Around a month after we had the car, I noticed one day while looking at it in the driveway that the bumper was falling off. I asked my daughter about it, and she said it was "like that" from the day we bought it. My daughter works multiple jobs along with attending college. One of her jobs is working at a car wash. She talked to the owner of the car wash about the bumper, and as a favor he tried to attach it back onto the car. What he did worked temporally as he thought it would. My wife was going to contact a body shop to price having it fixed. I asked her to hold off. I wanted to contact the Sales office where we purchased the vehicle to discuss the issue with them first. Honestly, the more I thought about it the more I could not believe that a company like Hertz would sell a car with the front bumper falling off. I understand we bought the car used and didn't expect the car to be in perfect condition. The front bumper falling off seemed a bit ridiculous. I called the Hertz Car Sales office multiple times and left multiple messages with no success reaching anyone. When we initially purchased the vehicle, we were also promised a vehicle history report. Because it was late in the day the salesman said that he would have to mail it to us. My wife and I were comfortable moving forward with the purchase of the vehicle because we felt that we were dealing with a reputable company. As it turns out, a month after the purchase we had to call multiple times to get the vehicle history report that we were promised. The tone we received from the sales office after the purchase of the vehicle was completely different to what it was prior to the purchase. I didn't think sales practices like this existed in today's world let alone with a large company like Hertz. We also had our mechanic look at the car and were informed that the rear brake pads were at 4mm and should be replaced soon. Again, not a big deal but something I didn't expect purchasing a car from a company like Hertz. Prior to posting this I reached out to the Hertz Car Sales office multiple times and left multiple messages asking to speak with the manager. I didn't even say what it was regarding. No response. I was able to get my message to the regional manager through speaking with an agent at the Hertz corporate office. The regional manager left me a voice message to discuss. I tried returning his call multiple times and texting him and have not heard back. Honestly, A two-minute phone call and explanation could have more than likely avoided this post. Never again.... Sincerely, Unhappy Customer.

WORST EXPERIENCE!!!
HORRIBLE experience. On 1/3/23 I made a reservation with HertzRent2Buy for 1/5/23 pickup. I waited for the phone call from Hertz to let me know that the car was ready for pickup but never received it. So on 1/6, I called them and I was told that they had the car, but it needed to be cleaned and that they would call me when it was ready which would be later that day or the next day. The next day comes and still no phone call from them. On Monday 1/9, I call them again to follow up and they don't know where the car is. Then, the next day, I'm told that the car was sent to service and it would be ready on Friday 1/13. On 1/13, I call them to follow-up and again I am told that they don't know where the car is and they will call me back. They never did. On Saturday 1/14, I receive an email from them saying that they received the cancellation of my Hertz Rent2Buy test rental which was strange because I never cancelled my test rental. I am in need of a car and to have my reservation get pushed back several times just to get cancelled was infuriating.

Horrible customer service, lazy salesmen
Recently bought a BMW 530 from Andy, oil change light popped on after 2 days. Called Andy to see when the last time the car was serviced, his exact words “take it to BMW, pay a couple of dollars, and have a peace of mind.” Turns out, they sold me a car that was due for service in 56 miles. I only found this out after taking it BMW (like Andy advised). Also, I called corporate and they were able to tell me the car was last serviced at 15K, and was due for another oil change at 25K (I bought the car right under 25K miles.) Called the manager, Joe, (after speaking to corporate they confirmed Joe is not the manager), Joe’s advice was just as useless as Andy. Joe decided to let me know that sometimes they forget to reset after an oil change, but BMW and Hertz corporate office were able to confirm that the car was in fact due for an oil change, and corporate also mentioned, the dealership should have completed the oil change before I bought and even after I called. Just buy from a BMW dealership to get that “peace of mind” Andy spoke so highly of. If I could give this dealership zero star, I would.

Great experience and no BS games
I wouldn't take my time to write this review, but after I saw the negative reviews I decided to share my opinion. I had a great experience at Herz and I always send anyone asking there. Today a friend of mine showed me the bad reviews on this website and asked me if I am sure that this is the place. I showed him great reviews that Hertz has on other websites and decided to write this one.We purchased 2017 Altima and they even called us when they received the second key. THere was no presure for getting warranty, etc and we got a great rate. You should go and check for yourself.

Purchased car in cash and am unable to get title
Buying process went well only glitch was that I was told the passagner air filter could be replaced after purchased and after I paid I found out that don't do any type of repair after sale of vehicle. Also several weeks have passed since purchase and I don't have a title yet. I'm worried because during my sale someone called in and they said their temporaty license expired and they still hadn't gotten a title. I have been told that Indiana, where I reside is slow to process titles, (but this isn't the case); I keep hearing both I do and don't have to get a VIN check in Indiana, (sometimes they say I have to do it and sometimes, they say it's done); and now I'm hearing there is a lien on title. I'm worried!!!

Our vehicles are carefully selected from our rental fleet, undergone extensive pre-delivery inspections and passed all requirements to be accepted as a Hertz Certified vehicle. After the purchase of the vehicle, if no warranty was purchased, you must service the vehicle to maintain safety standards. We apologize for any confusion, Kathy.
be aware !
No pressure from seller, Danny was his name, everything was as promised by his part but once I got to finance problems started- of course selling all different kind of protection - for some I agreed like platinum coverage because that car was from the fleet so you never know what could go wrong, second I felt almost pressured to buy was car care maintenance through Pep Boys which include 6 synthetic oil change and 6 tire rotation for $576. I did not like that but after Kiko's speech I agreed to add that one. What a mistake- I went after one month to Pep Boys for tire rotation but they told me that I can not do that before certain mileage (like it is printed in coupon book), I asked for oil change and got same answer!!! So, according to them I have to drive 10.000 miles and then to came back for oil change- I am driving on average 4.000 miles a year so little over two years to wait for that service!!! I did nit like that and went back to Kiko, finance guy and returned him coupon book and asked to cancel this service. That was end of august and until today my service contract is not cancelled, I did not receive refund even though I called numerous times Kiko and amount is still included in my loan I am paying- of course with interest! And not only that but there are few more things also in the contract - I asked for that and he told me that everything is the way it suppose to be, that I will get refund from Il. state for tax and I believed him! So, be aware what are you signing, look well over everything and do not believe "nice words" they will say anything just to sell product!

Worst car buying experience at Hertz Des Plains IL
First of all Hertz increased the price of the cars just before my arrival. On one car price was increased by $150 (Rent to buy car) and on another can price was increased by $300 (Certified). When I asked I was told it was done by corporate and they can?t change it. Later when I contacted rent to buy customer service they said dealer can?t increase the price on rent to buy and if they do I need to contact customer service. I sound sun visor bracket was broken but manager said price is included for that damages and can't be fixed. Before the test drive I asked Richard Ankotovitch about the marks on the tire and he said those are regular marks. But later found at Nissan dealer that tire is damaged, and it was due to car being driven with flat tire. Called Manager Lou on the phone who said nothing was wrong with the car when I bought. "A complete false statement". Hertz ran my credit check again even though I had pre-approval for car loan (2.54%) from Chase bank. New application from hertz had higher rate of interest (3.29%). Finance manager (Kiko) wanted to run a separate application and did not honor Chase banks pre-approval letter. Chase bank did not want to give me check as they were in partner with Hertz car sales and said they will directly send check to Hertz and Hertz manager kept saying that they need check. Chase customer service (3 different agents) and finance manager had multiple conversations, but nothing worked out as Hertz manager said they follow their own rules. Eventually Chase customer service agent said me let Hertz run the application again. But to my surprise rates were higher on new application. When I called Chase as the lender was Chase in the new application, Chase customer service was not able to see new application because it was ran internally. Finance manager was not willing to use the old application (I guess hertz wanted their own commission). At one point of time I was so frustrated with Hertz and Chase I thought I am not going to buy the car. But later I spoke to another bank (CEFCU) where I had pre-approval as well and they said I can refinance with lower interest rates within next couple of days. Another reason to continue the deal was because I can from 200 miles away and did not wanted to stay at hertz show room. Can around 11am and left around 5pm. Just for few extra bugs Hertz lost a valuable customer and future referrals. Had worst experience of car buying in my life.

Like so many have said before, this was a low pressure, no hassle experience. Brian did a great job of answering all our questions and showing us various cars in our price range. This was the third car my wife and I have purchased from Hertz and we would not hesitate to buy our next one there. I hate the usual car buying process, but the no haggle pricing makes decision making easy - and the prices are very fair.
