Unabashed up-selling of unnecessary service

Even though I bought my GMC from Koons, I stopped taking it in for service many years ago. I couldn't have a service visit without hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of unnecessary add-on repairs. I switched to another local dealer's service garage and never experienced the problems again. My vehicle performed flawlessly for 150,000 miles. Due to the need for a last minute state inspection, my wife chose to go back to Koons. Unfortunately, the same up-selling protocol still exists. The service team tried to demand over $1000 worth of unnecessary repairs. Koons told my wife that if she didn't go along with the repairs, they would place a rejection sticker on the vehicle. She accepted the rejection sticker; went down the street to another inspection station; and the vehicle passed without incident. Note that my wife specifically asked the technicians to inspect what had failed at Koons. They showed her how the suggested items did not need repair /replacement. It's unfortunate that this behavior persists at Koons' service department. I learned my lesson (again) and I will not return.

Our previous dealer retired and we did not no where to purchase a new car. Old dealer said do not go anywhere but Joyce Koons on Manassas. This was the best recommendation we can ever remember receiving. Everyone at Joyce Koons was friendly, informative, knowledgeable and they worked very hard to get us exactly what we wanted. They even excepted our 12 year old envoy with 201,000 miles as a trade! The financing department found us the lowest interest, processed the paper work and had everything ready to sign in no time. Very efficient. My wife and I felt very comfortable and at ease with everyone we interacted with. No sales pressure at all. Thank you to all the employees at Joyce Koons who helped with this process. We'll be back!

Always a good experience

The service experience with Koons of Manassas has always been good for myself and my GMC vehicle. The personnel in the Service Dept have always been polite, knowledgeable and honest with assessments of requested and recommended service.

Great service experience, again

Came into service my mustang. Jeff Miller took great care of me as always. I am now in my seventh year of servcing and buying vehicles at Joyce Koon's. What a great team. It doesn't matter if the vehicle is simple (G6 Pontiac 4 cylinder) or complex (GTO Pontiac 8 cylinder) it is done beautifully. Again, thanks from the family.

Scheduled Appointment

Jeff Miller was my Service Advisor he was ready to service my vehicle at the scheduled appointment time, plus my car was washed before being returned to me. I had a return visit a few day's later as I missed that my annual state inspection was past due. I was told no charge as we both missed that it was due. Thank you, Excellent service as always!!!

Buick Lease

Leasing my Buick Lacrosse was pretty easy. Patrick Bryant was the sales manager, and he could not have been more helpful. He stated the pros and cons of leasing vs purchasing, and after some consideration, I decided to go forward. At the end of the lease, I felt like I was left out to fend for myself. At first, I was told I'd have to go into the dealership to pay taxes and change title, and plates, etc. When I called to ask for more detailed information, it was suggested I check the DMV online - I was given no help whatsoever. It then took about a month to conclude the transfer. It was difficult to connect with the leasing bank. They cashed my payoff check right away, but 3 weeks later, it is not final as I don't have paperwork to visit the DMV yet. It is being processed at this time, however. Patrick Bryant changed my views of Koons-Manassas, but he is no longer there to help me.

Great place in service and friendliness

I've been going here for years. As a woman you're never sure if you're being treated fairly. I've had 2 service advisors and both have been excellent. I absolutely recommend this dealership!

Service was solid. Given an estimate of an hour for an oil change and they nailed it right on the nose. NIce, comfortable waiting area.

Oil change

Very disappointed on the time it takes to get an oil change when you have an appointment set up. Also found grease hand prints on my driver door inside handle and steering wheel. When they pulled my truck in and out after requesting for the car wash they drive way to fast , like it is a speedway. I do not appreciate someone driving my truck this way if they in a hurry.
