This has been months of unimaginable stress and

This has been months of unimaginable stress and frustration, and I am at my wit’s end. My husband and I purchased a brand-new 2023 Chevy Trailblazer from Chevy of Palatine in October 2023, excited for a reliable family vehicle. Little did we know, our lives would soon be turned upside down by a series of events that have caused us both immense fear and distress. In August 2024, just ten months later, the check engine light came on. We took the vehicle to Chevy of Palatine’s service department, as it was still so new. The service team informed us that the fuel pump needed to be replaced, so they gave us a loaner vehicle and ordered the necessary part. It took a couple of weeks for the replacement to arrive. Once the vehicle was repaired, we picked it up, only for the unimaginable to happen just days later. While driving on the expressway, on our way to pick up our 3-year-old daughter, the vehicle suddenly caught fire. This was the most terrifying moment of our lives. We had no choice but to jump out of the truck and run to safety, then call the fire department to extinguish the flames. In a state of shock, we had the vehicle towed back to Chevy of Palatine and filed a claim with State Farm. In the meantime, we were forced to Uber for two days and rely on a rental car, as we had no other options. When the adjuster from State Farm inspected the vehicle, the dealership admitted fault, acknowledging that GM had sent them a defective part and that my car was still under warranty. They assured State Farm they would take responsibility for the repairs. State Farm then dropped the claim, as it was clear the issue was caused by the dealership’s mistake. I immediately contacted the dealership, expressing my deep concern about the safety of putting my family back in the same vehicle. I told them I no longer wanted the car, as I could not in good conscience risk my children’s lives. The manager I spoke with agreed to help us trade the car in once it was repaired, offering significant discounts due to the trauma and inconvenience we’d endured. However, months later, after the truck was repaired (again), the dealership’s offer was a slap in the face. They insisted the best they could do was a $4k discount on a new vehicle, with the store manager, Brandon V, telling us we should be “grateful” for that. The salesperson, Carlos, even had the nerve to claim that the fire was not their fault, asking us why we were upset, as if the near-death experience we endured didn’t matter. When we explained our concerns about the safety of putting our children back in the same truck, Carlos slid the keys across the desk aggressively, saying, “Well, take your car back then.” We left with no solution, still driving the same vehicle that almost cost us our lives just three months earlier. It is painfully clear that the staff at Chevy of Palatine have no understanding of the severity of what happened to us or any respect for the safety of our children. They showed no empathy, no accountability, and no appreciation for the trauma we’ve experienced. While we will trade in the truck, it will not be with Chevy of Palatine. I would never wish this experience on anyone, and I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with them to think twice. This isn’t just about bad service – it’s about life and death. It could very well cost you your life.

Buying a car with them was the worst experience I’ve ever

Buying a car with them was the worst experience I’ve ever had. 1st they refused any kind of credit union check. 2nd when they helped with car insurance they filled out all the information for me to help me get a “lower” rate, and a week later progressive ended up calling me to do a interview about some of the questions they answered for me, which they lied about, and when I answered them correctly my insurance almost doubled. 3rd and the worst part of my experience is Robert the finance guy, who gave me 50 dollars and told me to buy dinner for myself on him that he took out of the cash I gave him for a down payment. He also told me if I ever needed help paying my monthly payment to call him and he would help me and to think of him as a “sugar daddy”, as I’m crying because this was the first time I was buying a car by myself and my car broke down unexpectedly, so it was a rough couple days for me. He said he likes to take care of girls like me. Now it’s almost 2 years down the road and people for the dealership are hassling me to refinance or get into a new car at a better rate, so I decide to do it. They ding my credit multiple times, no one calls me back, or has a straight answer for me, and it’s been 5 days no call back. I would stay far far away from this place.

Brought my car in for service.

Brought my car in for service. Was very dissapointed when they gave me the bill and would not honor the 8qt @ $49.99 cupon I've selected while scheduling for service. They just said we can't apply it in your case. I requested to speak with the manager and they said he's not around.

Horrible experience.

Horrible experience. Felt like we were being scammed. Agreed to buy the Tahoe but not the "extras" (LoJack & Protective covering which added up to over $5K!). The only way they would remove the "extras" was if we financed through them. We already had our approval in our hand. Easy sale! He said then he couldn't do it. Openly admitted they get a kickback from the bank if we financed through them then we can refinance through our own bank after a couple of months. Warning the price you see online is not the price you will get when you get there and start the process. The details did not include those extras at all. Felt for our salesman who was awesome. The manager was a jerk and just didn't care. Left angry and extremely disappointed. Not a good experience and we will take our $50K and go spend it somewhere else.

Went in to look a used Tahoe after speaking with

Went in to look a used Tahoe after speaking with dealership multiple times over the phone. Vehicle had a few issues that needed to be addressed. We went to lunch and waited for a call back from salesman. This never happened, after calling him multiple times he told me he was in training that’s why he never called back. Still never provided answers on issues with the vehicle. We drove over an hour to this dealership. Don’t let them waste your time like they did ours. Minimal inventory very young inexperienced staff. Parking lot had more pot holes than I55. Extremely disappointed and we were ready to buy. Take your business elsewhere. Salesman told us they lost a lot of staff And managers were demoted from corporate, this should tell you a lot.
